Start from the beginning

"Look, this gold is very expensive now. You should rethink your decision."

I wish I could. But sadly I can't. The situation I'm in isn't allowing me to think selfishly of me. I shook my head and came up with a lie

"These are very heavy to wear. Also this gold is expensive and I'm scared of having them lost. Please just tell me the price of it."

The jeweler looked at me like I had grown two heads. Of course, why wouldn't he? My excuse is the worst excuse ever. Anyone can tell that I'm lying. But what can I say? I don't want to brag to people about my problems. The shopkeeper weighted the earrings and finally answered me

"Since it's expensive and looked unused than it'll be 20,000."

Well I can work with that. Bisma's fees can be paid and I can also pay the rent of this month too. By the next month, I will find a job inshallah. The jeweler took the earrings and handed me the money. I took the money and put it secured in my purse. I recited "Ayatul Kursi" before exiting the shop. I tightly held my dupatta and started my walk. The street was almost empty. Only few shopkeepers were there but they were also closing their shops.

The street started to darken and a small tint of fear developed inside my chest. But I kept my face neutral and fastened my steps. I need to reach home as soon as possible. I didn't even tell anyone at home. If anyone woke up, they would be worried sick. Ya Allah!! Please help me. Suddenly, I heard footsteps from behind me. I didn't dare look behind but I sped up. The footsteps also increased causing me to ran.

The person behind me started chasing me. My heart was hammering inside my chest and my legs felt shaky. The person was still following me. I tried not to panic but the fear inside me had blocked all my senses. I tripped onto the stone infront of me and lost my footing. I stumbled and tried to stable myself but my foot twisted causing me to shriek out in pain and I fell down on the cold hard ground. I groaned feeling the pain on my foot.

But immediately the sense of fear enveloped me when I realized that the person who was following me knelt down infront of me. I could feel his breath and it didn't feel good. He reeked of alcohol and all the bad food. I closed my eyes tightly and started praying to God to send someone to help me. Ya Allah! Please help me!!!

Shah Zain's POV

Hashir was shocked after hearing the whole incident. He was silent since maybe approx 2 minutes and hadn't even said anything. I snapped my fingers at him and this brought him out of his trance. He blinked at me and cleared his throat. He looked speechless. Well, he has every right to be. He knew Shiza since she was working for dado. She's been working for nearly 3 years and no one had ever thought that she would do something like that. Hashir looked at me and said

"Look, I know you're gonna argue but don't you think that it's very strange that Shiza did something like that? I mean she's been working here since years actually."

My eyebrows furrowed at his statement. How can he think like that? That woman is a cheater. She is the reason why my dado is suffering like that. I shook my head and said looking away from him

"I'll think you didn't just say that."

Hashir shook his head and clicked his tongue. He tried to explain me

"Look Zain I know it's hard to believe. I also know that you don't like that girl too much. But just think, why would she do something like that now? Why didn't she ever try to steal something before?"

His question had a sense but my mind is ignoring every rational thing right now so I stated

"Look what she did can't be neglected. She stole and she got what she deserved. I hope you'll understand that too."
