The Thing Fire Can Light

Kiara pov: For some reason, I had a feeling something bad had happened to Calli, but I didn't know what, and besides, she isn't with me, so who knows why I am feeling this way?

"Kiara, we need to find a way to get out." Mumei sighed.

"Yeah," I said.

"What's wrong?" Mumei asked

"Do you think Calli could be deaf?" I was about to finish, but Mumei cut me off.

"Don't think negatively," Mumei stated.

"Aren't you the queen of negativity?" I asked

"Shut up...." Mumei giggled.

"Senpai, we could, in theory, exit the way we fell!" Zeta said

"That could work in theory...." Mumei groaned

Zeta walked under the hole and held her arms out. Mumei ran at her and jumped on her arms before Zeta flicked them upward, launching Mumei in the air. She disappeared for a few seconds, only to plummet down soon after.

"It's no good; it's too dark, and for some reason I can't access my powers, so no flying." Mumei said

I thought to myself, "If flying for me isn't going to be possible, then there is no way that we can get out of there." Mumei looked at me and shook her head.

"That's not 100% true." "We technically may be able to get one of us out, but we'd all need to work together," she said.

"Well, we don't have that bad of a group," I said.

We had plenty of people to help get us out. We just need to find a way to get out where all of us can escape, not just one, and even if one of us could escape, we'd just be giving false hope to the rest of us.

Zeta woke the boy up. Mumei said

"Do I have to wake the dumb mutt up though?" Zeta asked, getting a slight giggle from her other self.

"Yes," Mumei said sternly.

"Alright Senpai....." Zeta sighed

"What can I do, Mumei!?" Fauna asked eagerly.

"Keep being cute," Mumei said.

"Can do!" Fauna replied

"He's up, Mumei-senpai!" Zeta stated

"Alright, now have Kaela tie him up," Mumei said.

"W-why?" Zeta asked

"Just do so...." Mumei sighed.

"Okay, I'll trust you, Mumei-senpai!" Zeta said

She was about to ask Kaela, but she was listening the whole time.

"There we go, he's tied up," Kaela said.

"What the fuck!?" Axel yelled

"Thank you, Ela," Zeta said softly.

"Okay, now that he's tied up, we can get to work," Mumei said.

"What are we doing, Mumei-senpai?" Zeta asked

"Nothing yet," Mumei stated.

"Nothing yet. What do you mean?" I asked

"We can't act yet; we need to do something first. " Mumei sighed

"What?" I asked.

"We need to find Omegaα, if they are here...." Mumei groaned

"Why do you want to do that!?" I asked

"I need to absorb some power from her, and hopefully I can break out of here," Mumei said.

How much power could Mumei get from Omegaα? And why does she suddenly want to do this? Wouldn't she want to stay as far away from them as possible?

Mumei looked at me and nodded, so I tilted my head to the side. Now that I think about it, she does seem to want to learn more about herself since she doesn't know about herself as a vessel.

"We probably should head out and look," I said.

"Yes, Zeta, Kiara, and Fauna are with me," Mumei said.

"What should we do?" Suisei-senpai asked

"Watch over him," Mumei said as she pointed at Axel.

"Can Ela come with us?" Zeta asked

"Oh yeah Kaela we need you actually" Mumei said

"This team is pretty good," I said.

Mumei nodded once again, and she walked behind me and punched a random part of my back, which made my body light up like a lantern and burned away the darkness.

"What the hell?" I said it in shock.

"Now we can see," Mumei said.

"Since when could I do this!?" I asked

"Always," Mumei said.

"How in the hell did you know I could do this?" I asked

"I studied phenoix and everything they can do. I need to know the abilities of everyone since I was meant to destroy everything," Mumei explained.

"Well, I've studied owls and everything they can do!" I said

"Really?" Mumei asked.

"Y-yeah...." I stated

"I don't trust you," Mumei laughed.

"Meanie!" I hissed

"Mumei-senpai, can you turn down the light?" Zeta aksed

"Yeah, I can," Mumei said.

"Wait, how do you do that?" I questioned

She walked behind me and pinched the back of my neck and twisted to the left. I don't know why, but that worked, and the light dimmed.

"Wait, Phoenix can't do this." I stated Mumei nodded once again but didn't say anything.

"Kiara-senpai, why does it matter as long as this helps us?" Zeta asked

"Because it makes no sense!" I said

"Not really, and besides, I made you with this function," Fauna said.

"You didn't make me!" I yelled, "Well, I guess you did..." I sighed

"Wait, she's your mother?" Ela is confused by this.

"Well, technically, Fauna made all animals," Mumei said.

"Wait, so does that... ugh, this makes zero sense..." Kaela groaned

"Don't worry about it," Mumei said.

We began to walk, and I was taking the lead because I could tell that I was actually hurting Mumei's eyes.

"You can walk ahead since you can see in the dark," I suggested.

"Sure," Mumei said as she walked ahead.

"How far can you see?" I asked

"Pretty far, actually, but it doesn't look like anything is there. We will need to get close in order to see," Mumei said.

"Mumei-senpai, I can see pretty well as well!" Zeta said

"Then you get in front with Mumei, you little shit!" I said

"Wow rude Senpai...." Zeta said as she walked up to the front.

I know I was being mean, but I had no time for this since I had a feeling something happened to Calli, and I'm way too worried to think straight. I need to confirm if Calli is okay or not.
