"Even if she doesn't intervene in our relationship, I can't do it."  Aurora shook her head and sighed.

"Why? Don't you like me?" I asked, cupping her cheeks, lifting her head up, making her look me in the eyes. "Tell me you don't feel the same, and I will leave you alone."

"I don't." She mumbled and pulled back, averting her gaze.

"But last night? We both know it was more than lust." I stated firmly.

"We were drunk, Liam. It will be better if we forget about it." She said, determined. "Leave now, please. I don't want anyone to find out about last night." She added, giving me a pleading look.

"Aurora..."

"Liam, please."

I gritted my teeth in irritation and stormed out, slamming the door behind me.

***

It had been a few weeks since Aurora and I were together in Paris. I had been calling and texting her the last few weeks, but she didn't pick up my calls or reply to my messages. I went to the fashion house to see her yesterday, but she hid somewhere. I didn't know how to convince her to give me a chance. I felt devastated.

I parked my car in front of my parents' mansion and leaned my head back against the headrest, lost in my thoughts.

Today was our traditional Sunday dinner. Fortunately, my father handled my problem with Layla; she didn't work here anymore. Moreover, I hadn't seen her face since the day she blackmailed me. I was relieved that that bitch left me alone.

I got out of my car and waited for Sienna and Romeo as I saw my brother-in-law's car approaching me. After greeting each other, we walked towards the main door.

My parents, my grandparents, my aunt, Elva with her husband, David and their daughter with her fiancé were already here, waiting for us. My uncle Milan, his wife, Maria and their two daughters couldn't join us because they were on a vacation in Florence. Just my brother hadn't arrived yet; my mother told us that he was bringing his fiancée's nephew with him.

His fiancée, Kate and her mother had to visit Kate's aunt because she was in the hospital. Kate's sister was out of town as well; so my brother suggested them to take care of the boy till they came back.

After for a while, my brother arrived. As soon as they walked in, everyone's attention was focused on the little boy. Kate's nephew, Alec. He was so cute. He had blond hair and blue eyes. The boy looked familiar, but I didn't remember where I saw him.

After having dinner and spending time together, the others left, excluding Troy, Alec and me. It was late. I decided to stay the night here; I wasn't in the mood to go home. Besides, I wouldn't be able to drive because I was tipsy.

Troy was reading the little boy a fairytale while Alec was sitting on my brother's lap, leaning against his chest, listening to him attentively. They got along very well. It felt like they hadn't met recently, but they had known each other since Alec was born.

I was sitting in the armchair next to the floor to ceiling window, sipping my whiskey while sending messages to Aurora, but she kept ignoring me. I heaved a loud sigh in annoyance and went to the garden, throwing my phone into the armchair, taking my drink with me.

I sat down on the sun lounger and watched the lights illuminating the surface of the swimming pool while sipping my whiskey, lost in my thoughts.

Aurora's POV

"You two look so gorgeous together." Jasmine commented, smiling while looking at my photo with Liam which Marco had sent me. "Why don't you give him a chance?" She asked softly as she lifted her head and looked at me.

"He is a player." I rolled my eyes.

"With this appearance, of course girls will be crazy for him." Jasmine winked at me. "By the way, my friend is so beautiful. So I understand why he was staring at you like he wanted to eat you." She added mischievously and grinned, amused.

"Jas!" I warned her and bit my lower lip shyly as I remembered my night with Liam in Paris.

"Oh, sorry. He has already devoured you." She commented, giving me a wicked smirk.

"Jas! I shouldn't have told you." I pouted, furrowing my eyebrows. "We were drunk."

"Yeah. Yeah." She looked at me, unconvinced. "You weren't drunk in these photos, but the attraction between you two is almost visible from the photos. So I think alcohol just gave you some courage to go after it." She winked at me playfully.

"Jasmine! Stop talking nonsense! And be quite. I don't want Mom to find out about what happened between Liam and me." I warned her.

"Fine, but you look like a golden couple." Jasmine commented in awe, looking at my photo with Liam on my laptop, and showed the photo to me.

I bit my lower lip and looked at the photo, lost in my thoughts.  I heaved a loud sigh and shook my head.

"He is Serena's son, Jas." I reminded her.
