"Always alone"

Equuleus Ara Thatcher was a weird name for such a girl as herself.

She deemed that as soon as she was able to comprehend what her name was and what it meant along with the curious looks once she told people what her name was. She decided not to go by a nickname while growing up, it was one that she was troubled with for so long but she knew her mother named her that because of her love of the stars. That equuleus could never take that away as she valued the small memories of her mother very much.Though that didnt mean she didn't like how many people managed to mispronounce her name. "-ss thatcher" Her teacher called out, Equuelus' eyes snapping back into reality as she saw the teacher's glare falling onto her figure.

"If you would please apply yourself to the lesson, I don't accept neglect of my lesson plan" the warning going in one ear before going out the next before she nodded, "of course I'm sorry" she apologized. Though she did not particularly care, seeing as she was the youngest in her class for a reason, being thirteen and smart was hard and although she knew she wasn't on albert einstein level she was still smart in some areas. She mostly specialized in robotics, loving to learn and create new things from scratch.

It wasn't long after her scolding that the bell rang, signifying the end of the school day. Multiple of her peers were rushing to pack up their things while they conversed with their friends. Made plans on what they were going to do and who they were going to see, and while she picked up that information around her, she took more time in doing what she had to do. A lot of them didn't want to befriend someone three or four years younger than them especially when she wasn't all that talkative and neither did she open herself up easily, but she thought that was a given seeing as fast friends always turned bad in most cases.

Grabbing her bag and her phone, she made it outside her class and found herself following the masses through the hallways though with no one by her side, and neither did she have loud music playing in her ears as she walked. She thought about what she would be doing when she got home and chores were easily the first thing that came to her mind. She was listing the priorities mentally as some of them were more important. Making it to her bus, she sat down and sighed while looking out the window, familiar scenery and houses passing her by. She lived by herself, well mostly by herself seeing as her aunt and uncle were currently vacationing around Europe, making sure to check in on her every couple of months. She was used to this, from the age of seven when she was placed in her custody, they never truly stopped living their childfree life and sent her money for the necessities while making sure the bills were paid.

She never really blamed them, she was shoved onto them when her neighbors reported her father to the police for unnecessary amounts of noise, although there was much more going on than they knew. He was doing a multitude of experiments on her, collecting her blood and trying to enhance her into a weapon. One that he would be able to control. And while the police arrested him, her father managed to destroy any evidence of what he was doing to his own daughter. So after all the experiments, she was stuck with Molecular control, being able to choose either pushing or forming molecules together. She never spoke a word of it to anyone, knowing that if she did, her life would be put in jeopardy, as well as more than likely never seeing anymore of her already distant family.
