She looked at me with sympathy.

"Nel I'm in pain" I cry

"I know, I'm so sorry love"she says

I watched as they lowered the casket into the ground.

"Tobyyy"

"Baby-"

"Toby mama's sorry" I sob falling to my knees

"He knows love, he knows"

We walked back home but I didn't want to do anything. I don't want anything but Toby, my son.

Nellie's pov

She wouldn't get out of bed. She's not doing anything. She sits there holding his stuffed bear. I closed the shop so no one would bother us. I walked into our room where she stares at the wall.

"Y/n?"

She looks up at me

"Hey baby" I smile

She smiled a little at the name

"Is it ok if I join you?"

"Mhm" she nods

I get in behind her wrapping my arms around her waist. She grabbed one of my hands and held it to her chest.

"What's on your mind?"

"I miss him"

"I know, I do to"

I get out of bed and take her hands in mine. I dragged her to the kitchen to ask the big question.

"What happened that night love"

"I sent Toby to get something from Sweeney but he had figured out what he actually did. But I had already got to bed and assumed that he would sleep up there with Todd. So the next morning I went up to wake him but h-he was de-ad"

"I'm sorry I asked love"

"I'm the reason we don't have a son" she sobbed

I wrapped her in my arms and brought her to the couch. I left for a second to grab his bear for her. Once it was given after a few minutes she mumbled 'mama's sorry' and looked at me. Her eyes told me that she's trying.

"Baby steps love, baby steps" I say kissing her head
