From my understanding, Charlee left a note inside of my old house in Alexandria, stating that she and Wren took the twins and Jamie, moving on from the communities, unable to be in the area where she not only lost her best friend, but her own twin, too. Adding that she didn't think it was safe for my children to be nearby with Owen still lurking around for extra flare. No one can really argue; they all know how protective she is when it comes to our original tight nit group.

Carol mixed in truth with the rumor she sent ablaze through the communities; Tori went down in the rescue mission. Arat, who also went down in the fire fight, stalked down Carol and the King to bring news of my whereabouts. As soon as they had my location, they had dropped everything. The only lie being that they had discovered my body lying not far from my father's walker. Apparently a few of my own group had come to the Kingdom to visit my grave. I was no where to be found since I'm not inside their gates. But I sat back and observed the comings and goings, staying out of eye sight. What can I say, I was curious and I'm always the cat. I'm never going to be able to do this a second time.

According to Jesus, no one took that much loss in one sitting well. To my surprise, Rick went down days after my capture. He was being chased by one of the herds we were trying to corral; making a decision to blow up the bridge, going down with the burning walkers. In their minds, they've been dealt with three major losses when things seemed to be settling down for the better. Just to turn around, and have Charlee and Wren leave the fray. Little did they know, we were still in the area, right under their noses.

I shake my head, "this is my fight alone."

I glance over my shoulder, observing my brother stalking out of the house. He nods at Jesus in greeting. In his hand holds two bowls filled with lettuce and mixed vegetables. He passes them to the two of us, smirking. I offer my thanks. James leans against the railing, "I tried gettin' her to let any one of us go, but she insists this is her problem. I wouldn't waste ya breath."

I cast my gaze towards my feet, frowning. I'm not wrong. If I never entertained and fell for him, I'd still be at Daryl's side. Tori and Jordan would still be alive and James would still have his wife. Instead, I'm playing dead, hiding from the people who had kept me safe for so long in this world.  This started years before the world ended, and now I need to finish it.

I feel my blood run cold at the sound of horses galloping in our direction. I set my bowl on the ground, standing at my brother's side. I watch as Jerry, Ezekiel, and Carol approach. I cross my arms, curious. They've been known to crash our quiet life individually, but never together. Something is up.

I jump over the railing, strutting to meet them half way.

"Get ready," I watch as Carol produces a map, "we had a sighting."

I reach up, taking it into my grasp. I take a moment to memorize the area. I stuff it in my pocket, spinning on my heels, heading for the front door to get changed and offer my goodbyes; because there is a chance I won't come back from this. It's time. Ready or not, Owen, here I come.
