"MAN I can't believe I let you convince me to ride your bus." Laurie grumbled. Connor and Laurie were sat in the same seat on the big yellow bus heading about over an hour away from Argyle (their hometown).

Laurie had her last soccer game of the summer season, conveniently in the same place of the Warrior's next football game. Connor finding it almost romantic that the two would be playing just a field away, but also finding it unfortunate that she'd be missing the game.

"Oh, c'mon, you love it here." Connor nudged Laurie who was leaning her head against the window.

"My team is probably already there, and I'm here, hearing this bus driver talk about his jock itch and how he was 'the man' back in '86." Laurie deadpanned.

"Okay, grumpy Wednesday Addams." Connor teased.

"That's more a compliment than anything, Jenna Ortega Wednesday is hot." Laurie stated, giving a smug smile. Connor laughed, beaming at the girl.

"Bummer you don't get to see this game, though." connor added.

"Yeah, but after this, I'll be at all the rest." Laurie smiled. Connor smiled back.

"Still have no idea what any of the playbook means, though." Connor chuckled. Laurie laughed and sighed.

"I dunno either, if all else fails, go long, I guess." She chuckled, half-jokingly.

"Will keep that in mind." Connor smiled.

----///----

Laurie went into a full sprint, hair tied back into a ponytail, a few front strands falling out, sweat beading down the sides of her face. As she sprinted in, for a brief moment, she wondered if it was the wrong move to go in for the slide tackle. It was too late to wonder, and she dropped down, internally praying she made contact with the ball so as not to get potentially carded.

Laurie felt her cleats make contact with the ball. It was a clean slide tackle. Her opponent rolled around fora moment, trying to play it off as an injury, and did a lousy job at the phony fake injury.

Laurie leapt up and ran in, swiftly getting ahold of the ball, running it in, down the field, defenders surrounding her, running in and pressuring the ball.

"Man on!" Laurie felt the heat and the pressure and kicked it to her teammate, the both of them running downfield. Meer feet away from the goal, her teammate went in for the goal, unsuccessful. The opposing goalie caught the ball and tossed it back out. But Laurie wasn't done there. She jumped up blocking the ball from her opponent with the inside of her calf, settling the ball nicely.
