Cirrus's POV
I lay awake in my bed, staring at the blank, colorless ceiling. My heart is doing flips and my stomach is in my throat. I look over onto my polished wood desk at the new object they gave me. It is thin and sleek black, but if I press the button on the front, an image full of colorful flowers pops up and if I slide my finger on the picture, more images pop up. It baffles me how they created this. What did they call it? A phone. They put it in my possession because I'm responsible,-- but mainly because I can charge it with my magic. Apparently if I use it to much, the picture won't pop up anymore until I recharge it. How odd it is. I set it back down on the desk and return to staring at the ceiling, nervous thoughts about tomorrow running through my mind. I try to close my eyes, but my brain makes me stay awake. He mentioned we had to kill off evil demons, which should be easy, but this Rin guy is bothering me. Even just looking human will make him harder to eliminate, or even harm him enough to defeat him. I suppose if he's pure evil, that will make him hard to stare at as a friend or even just someone who doesn't deserve to be subdued. The man told us we would get some freedom if we do this, though. Wait. I open my eyes wide with surprise. I can't believe I didn't notice sooner. The man never told us his name, or really anything about himself. Can we even trust him?🔶

🔷Morning
I am dragging this morning. I didn't get a wink of sleep, and judging by the other's faces, they didn't either. We're all in an armored car heading for the city, and all 5 of us were crammed in the back- in the dark- with no restrooms. I'm tired and absolutely terrified. I mean, we just woke up and they shove us in this creepy van, with almost no idea where we're going. Terrifying, right? Plus Flare has to pee, which is making her antsy, which puts us all on edge. I take the phone out of my pocket and stare at its perfect surface. If I look harder I see my reflection, and I look awful. Some of my hair is standing up, and around my eyes is purple from lack of sleep. I feel exhausted, and try to rest, but the cars bumpy movement makes my head fly around. I sigh and attempt to escape into sleep, but none comes. Finally the van stops, and we all look towards the doors eagerly, Flare most of all. They open the doors slowly, releasing a high pitched squeak that makes us screw or faces in pain. But when I look out, I see sunlight I can finally truly feel. I inch towards the opening, tentative at first, but then I run out, filled with glee. The sun blinds me at first, but I truly don't care. I dance around in the sunlight, feeling real happiness. We all dance in the sun, except for Flare, who had gone to find a bathroom. We finally settle down enough to look at where we are. I gasp in surprise as I see the huge, beautiful building we stand in front of. There appears to be many people bustling about, acting as if it's a normal day. One of the drivers approaches us. He is tall and muscular, not somebody I'd want to get in a fist fight with. "This is a school specially designed for learning magic," he says and I interrupt, surprised at myself. "But we already know magic!" I complain, stating the obvious. He gives me a death glare and I quiet down. "I'm well aware of that, Miss Cirrus, but the demon Rin is hiding here and it won't hurt to show off what you know, will it?" He growls, emphasizing the last two words. I nod, but don't completely understand. Why would they bother teaching us magic if we could've just learned it here? I shrug it off, they must have their reasons. For now I concentrate on the grandeur of the school.
"Oh!" The driver says, clearly remembering something he needed to do. " You need school suits, not- uh that," he says gesturing at our mismatched pajamas. I grimace at my clothing, he's right. I follow him into the amazing place that we will soon call 'home.'
