It's been two and a half hours since Aaron dropped me off after our donut date. In those two and a half hours I've accomplished many things.

I did my laundry, I did my dishes, I took a shower, I did some work, and I watched a movie.

To me, this has been a very long day.

I lay on my side, on my couch, rubbing my belly.

My skin is soft.

Besides my face, I've been breaking out more.

I'm hungry. I hope Aaron comes back soon with my food. I sit up.

What else can I do while I wait?

I walk towards my kitchen and examine it.

My island is pretty clean, besides the stack of sonogram photos and the stack of fliers for Cleo.

I frown. Cleo.

I grab the stack of sonogram photos.

Why haven't I put it up yet?

I look around my house.

It's mostly decorated. I can probably take down all decorations in less than an hour though.

This place doesn't feel like home anymore, if I'm being honest.

I only live in it because Jared offered a deal on the rent.

My face contorts in disgust as I think about Jared.

He hasn't bothered me ever since that night my house got broken into.

Asshole.

I sigh as I carefully put the stack of sonograms back on the island.

Maybe I should move.

If I move, should I move in with Aaron? After all, he's the father. Co-parenting would be easier if we lived in the same household.

Would we even co-parent? The vibe between us has changed over the past months. Ever since I broke it off, I've had my guard up around him. Lately, I haven't.

I've been trying not to hold grudges, and it's been working. I'm not that mad at Aaron anymore, but I wouldn't get back together with him yet.

Only for my and the baby's safety.

A knock at my door pulls me out of my trance.

Must be Aaron. With my food!

I walk to the front door, a smile on my face because I'm excited for food. But when I open my door, not only is there a brown paper bag with the smell of burgers, fries and milkshakes coming out of it in Aaron's arms, but a small golden retriever puppy.

The puppy is adorable, it kind of looks like Cleo when she was a pup. Not because it's a golden retriever like Cleo, but because the eyes, they have this look that makes you want to give them your food just because of their puppy dog dyes.
