Chapter 2. Sharks

"uhm, I'm not cleaning that, up" I said while pointing to all the half dissolved food that was on the ground, she began to look guilty, like a child whom had gotten a scolding for not doing the right thing, then she bolted towards the bathroom and threw up one again, I swam towards her to help hold her hair back so she wouldn't get it in it, then Nyx decided it was a good time for cuddles and sat on top of Stacy's lap, it distracted mum enough for her to stop vomiting

"DYLAN GET YOUR ASS HERE NOW!!!" I yelled out for the complete dick head, expecting him to come and he did

"You take over, I'm going out, I need a break from being the best person here, Ill be back by nightfall" I said while swimming out of the room.

"Yea that's all good, go find some new things for recycling!" Dylan said a little too excitedly, I giggled to myself. There was a massive pile of random stuff that had been left behind from centuries ago, I grabbed my leather shoulder bag of the hook out the front of the house

time for history! earth had gone through with a plan called 'the willow project', the willow project was based in one of the most beautiful places on earth, in Alaska over at least two hundred and fifty oil wells were made which over time caused over 280 metric tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere over 30 years, which traps heat into the atmosphere and caused ice over the entire planet to melt which caused an enormous flood which went over the entire planet which would happen a few centuries ahead of time, only people who were well skilled were able to survive, the rich all tried to survive with money, but what worth is a piece of paper which does nothing to people who are all trying to survive? shit all. everyone went crazy, going into stores stealing, most people killed themselves because they were all going to die anyway, the skilled ones, they survived and over generations and generations they evolved growing gills but that still wasn't enough, they would just be killed by the evolutions from other animals that were living in water before them, sharks had gotten bigger, dolphins gained bigger teeth, fish became stealthier, so humans kept evolving and soon enough they themselves had turned into fish and after falling out with each other they all made their own kingdoms over time, 6 where made 2 had fallen earlier to this time in the story, one had become unhabituated due to the king not having an heir and the other 3 where thriving, life had blossomed once again, plants from centuries ago also had adapted more and more plants had been popping up out of nowhere, that's the end of history lesson

water had begun to get colder the further I swam away from home, plants were beautiful where we lived, but what was better than the plants? the mountains, the mountains was where our kingdom was, I went into the kingdom every week on a Friday to sell artifacts and vegetables for mum, we had the best produce so we were able to sell veggies easy peasy, we made around 40 gold every week but if people brought a few artifacts it would get up to 50 to 60 gold easy as, our royals are King Anthony, Queen Evelynn and Prince Nathaniel, honestly I didn't really care for them, I care for my family and friends, it just doesn't make sense honestly, but OH well.

Todays Thursday so I'm headed into town to begin set up for tomorrows stall, Im halfway there but I heard something 'mew' I turned around looking for something to attack me 'mew' then I looked down

"MEOW" Nyx cried, my timid expression became expressionless

"Really?! why are you following me kitty?" I asked obviously knowing I wouldn't get someone talking back, I picked her up and put her in my shoulder bag and continued to swim ahead while picking blue flowers of the sidewalk, 15 minutes of swimming had passed and I was in town, the town was rather big, you could see the castle made out of limestone and grey tiling, it was gorgeous, extremely large, considering this was the second biggest castle in the nation, I looked around for people but it was so quiet , way to quiet , so I swam around looking someone, anyone, then out popped a rather short lady

"hello? where is everyone" I asked, they were old, they looked around in their eighties, they had a pale red tail

"towns square, some random announcement is about to happen, I've got stuff to do kid, get lost "they said while swimming away 'rude much' I thought to myself, I began to swim towards towns square to see what's going on it was stocked, mers where everywhere, loud giggles and mumblings

"ahem! the king and queen have an announcement today, and have told me to tell everyone personally" a guard had said, Melissa, she was the kings guard, a really high status, the square was quiet , not a peep could be heard

"there are new occupations opening up this year, I shall read them out" she began to say 'is was kind of boring honestly I would leave but swimming would be too loud so Ill just stay until the end of this' I thought

"5 accountants' Melissa 5 ACCOUNTANTS WHAT THE HEEL?! WHY THAT MANY?!' I thought.

"3 chefs, 4 waitresses, any amount of maids and or guards and 2 adventurers, we will need skilled people who are prepared for any task that they are given, a warning has been needed to be announced for a certain jobs, chefs have been fired due to not being  enough same goes with waitresses, maid have been slacking off which has caused an impatient prince and our adventurers, our last adventurers had been killed by shark folk so anyone whom is interested into that job be prepared for danger that lie ahead

"Pfft, shark folk?" I giggled to myself quietly.  People began to stare , it made me feel guilty obviously I wasn't quite enough, soon enough people just started to mind their own business again

I might as well become an adventurer, my pay will be better specially since I'm working for the Kingdom, plus shark folk won't hurt people if they are scared of you, I'll be able to support my family and get to do the thing I love, adventure!
