Matt: Now, this is what happens when you're using your Semblance.
Matt pours out a small amount of water from the cup.
Matt: You let your body pour out a little power, that is how a Semblance is used. Are you getting this so far?
Weiss: Yes.
Matt: Now, this is what happens when you're trying to use your summoning.
Matt pours some more water out while trying to grab the flowing water. He tries to swat it, grab it, but the water is still flowing from the cup to the ground.
Matt: You're trying to grab hold of something that doesn't have a form.
Weiss: A form?
Matt: You see, power is formless, shapeless, like water.
Matt: Now, this is something that a certain martial artist once said.
Matt: "You pour water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You pour water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You pour it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot."
Matt: Water is something you can't control your self.
Matt: But, if you put some barriers, some walls, a "path" for the waters flow to follow.
Matt walks over to a small patch of tall leaves.
Matt: Then you can still have complete control over it, without having to change the "waters flow".
Matt: And so, you can shape that water, and bend it to your will.
Matt pours the water on a leaf and the water droops down on another leaf. This repeates until the last leaf at the bottom droops the water on a little daisy.
Matt: Do you understand this little parable?
Weiss: I see... What you are trying to say is. The reason why I cannot control my Semblance's summons. Is because it doesn't have a form for it to take shape.
Matt: Now, with that logic. Let's try again.
Weiss nods and goes back to summon another glyph.
Matt: Okay, don't try to force it out this time. Try to make some paths for it to follow, make a shape for the "water" to take form.
Weiss: Make a shape, for the "water" to take form.
As she said this, the glyph that Weiss summoned glows brighter.
Matt: Yes, that's it. Oh, and a personal take. Why don't you try to say something before you summon?
Weiss: What?
Matt: You know, as a little confidence booster? Take mines for example.
Matt: Ahem... ARISE.
Shadows then circle beside Matt, and a giant shadow knight rises from the shadow.
