Chapter 5 - A Proper Introduction

It had been more than three weeks since he took a break. Perhaps it was time to start back up again? Give those gentlemen a run for their money, as it were. Besides, he would be leaving in a few short weeks. If he kept his wits about him, no one would be the wiser. Having made that decision, Alastor quickly dragged the child abuser behind the dumpster of the dark alleyway. He nearly grimaced as he remembered her vile hands pawing away at his chest. Disgusting woman thought he was going to have his wicked way with her right there in an alleyway? Just like that? Well...he was. Just not in the way she was most likely expecting.

Once she was out of sight for a while, Alastor made his leave. When he was out of the alleyway and shrouded by the cover of darkness, where the light from the gas lamps didn't reach, he whistled a tune to himself. It was pretty late, though not as late as some of the other performances he'd done these past several weeks. He supposed he was fine with that. The shows were becoming boring, and he was frankly okay with sitting in his hotel room and doing absolutely nothing. Maybe he would sleep or maybe he would read.

What he wasn't expecting, however, was to hear scuffling, and muffled voices. Alastor learned the hard way the first time to watch out for muggers and pickpockets, so his ears were definitely on high alert, even if his jovial whistling said otherwise. After a quick inspection of his surroundings, he concluded that he wasn't the one being targeted, which meant someone else was. He hadn't intended on murdering anyone else tonight, and frankly robbery (when it wasn't being done to his own person) wasn't too big of a cause to kill for him, but if it went further than that, Alastor knew he wouldn't hesitate to do so. After making sure the coast was clear again, the brunette sent his shadow ahead to observe the situation.

The scene that came to him was a bit dark, as there were few streetlights in the area and the moon was covered by the smog. But Alastor could see two figures. One on the ground struggling to sit up, and one holding a gun. Within seconds, the gun was fired with clear precision and the man on the ground reared back from the impact of the bullet to his skull, before slumping backward to the pavement. The remaining figure was a gent that was slightly familiar to Alastor. And then the realization hit him. It was the blonde from the bar!

"That was quite the shot," a voice said.

Anthony, still high on adrenaline, whipped around faster than the speed of light and grabbed the owner of the voice, before slamming him into the wall, his elbow under the man's chin and pushing it into his neck.

The man looked shocked for a beat, and then he smirked. "My, my. I must say, I did not foresee you being this skilled when we talked the other night." His voice was slightly raspy, of course, from nearly being choked by the younger man.

Anthony blinked and then his jaw dropped. It was him! It was the brunette from the bar! Holy shit! "AH! It's you!" the Italian exclaimed in surprise and then immediate embarrassment. He quickly stepped away from the man and felt his face heat up. "I-I'm so sorry sir. I didn't know it was you!"

Alastor rubbed his neck once he was let go and then laughed. "A bit on edge, are we?" He wasn't going to let the blonde know he had seen him kill a man at point blank range yet. First, the blonde would probably wonder how that was possible - considering he had been all alone with the other fellow - and second, Alastor was curious to hear his motives. He didn't quite seem like the type to kill just for fun, though his defensive moves were something to be admired for sure.

Anthony gave a shaky laugh. "Ya could say that, sure." He gave the brunette a once over, worry covering his features. "A-are you alright?"

Alastor nodded. "Quite, my good fellow, not to worry. Though I am rather curious what has you all jumpy. Is it simply the area?"
