Moping, he flopped back onto his bed, feet still touching the floor. "That's all well and good Molls, and ya make a good point. But that still doesn't solve the problems."
Molly looked down at her twin and huffed at his dramatics. "What are the problems then?"
Anthony gave a hollow laugh. "I could name ya a few right off the bat. Firstly, s'not exactly like I can just up and leave for hours to search for uh...her. Pops would never let me, not unless it was for a mission." And it was true. While the specific murders of the Mafia members and their targets seemed to have stopped, Henroin was still extremely strict about letting anyone leave the manor. It was effectively a prison. "Second, I don't even know where to look! This city is huge Molly! I can't walk around the whole city and expect to find her!" And third, the mystery person was a man. A very taboo thought and desire. But he didn't say that part out loud.
Molly shrugged. "We've snuck out before, no problem. And how do you know you wouldn't bump into her on the streets? She could have similar tastes as you and spend time in similar areas. You don't know if you don't try, right?"
Anthony sat up. He was beginning to feel happy that he brought this to his sister's attention. She gave him hope, even if she didn't realize where her brother's true feelings lay, and she made him think about some things. But, "Molls, we snuck out at night! Ya don't think she would already be in bed by then?"
Molly snorted. "No one our age is in bed by ten Tony, that's just Pops. You could at least get out for a few hours here and there to look. It couldn't hurt."
Anthony nodded, even though it was clear that neither of them knew what time people their age actually went to bed. It wasn't like either of them had anyone outside of the Family that was their age. "I'll think about it," he settled on, after a beat of silence.
Molly smiled again and lightly nudged her brother. "Good. Now, wash up, dinner is surely ready."
Dinner that night was homemade ravioli, which was Anthony's favorite dish that his mother used to make for him whenever he was feeling down. Anthony had the sneaking suspicion Molly had made that very meal for the exact same reason. And everything was quiet as it usually was, which let Anthony think things over. He really wanted at least a name to match the face he couldn't stop thinking about. And then he would forget about this whole stupid mess and move on. At least, that's what he kept telling himself.
But then, Henroin broke the silence. "Tony. What the fuck is wrong with ya?"
Anthony, not having expected the question and being lost in thought, jumped, fork clattering to the table.
Henroin raised an eyebrow and then glowered at him.
"N-nothin' sir," the blonde stammered. He could feel both Molly and Bruno giving him looks but both differed. Molly had a very good feeling she knew now, and Bruno had no idea.
"Bull. Shit," their father ground out. "Somethin' happen at the joint that I'm not aware of?" Now that question was directed at Bruno who sat up straighter and kept his gaze unwavering from their father's.
"No sir. Nothing that I know of. I spoke to the underboss and had a few drinks with Tony."
Henroin redirected his gaze back to Anthony. "Well whatever it is, figure yer shit out. Ya weren't fucking shit up for once. Keep it that way."
Anthony merely nodded, not trusting himself to speak. He wasn't even all that hungry anymore. However...technically his father did just give him permission to leave - in a very roundabout way - so that he could "figure his shit out." With that said, and before his newfound courage could leave him, he made the decision to take Molly's advice, and start the search tonight.
