Molly sat; eyebrows raised in question. She was doing her best to hold in any burning questions she might have had, and instead twisted a strand of curly hair that came out of her updo from the activities of the day.
Anthony stared off at the carpet for a moment, thoughts and words passing by at lightning speed as he tried to think of what to say. Maybe he could let Molly in on the cause of his recent behaviors without actually giving himself away. He wrote everything about it down, but it couldn't hurt to divulge bits and pieces to his twin. It might even help him feel better, and she always had a handful of advice at the ready. He took a deep breath and began. "Ya can't tell this to anyone Molls! Promise? I uh..." he rubbed the back of his neck and let out a puff of air. "I sorta met someone at the joint the other night."
Molly was on the edge of her seat, listening with rapt attention, eyes widening as her brother continued. And of course, she promised to keep any secret her brother wanted to tell her. That was what twins were for. When her brother finished, she had a large grin on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and she was clapping her hands as she lightly bounced on his bed, giddiness in her voice. "Oh, I just knew ya would Tony! What's she like?" she exclaimed, a bit too loudly in her excitement.
Anthony's eyes widened at the volume of her excitement and he quickly shushed her. "Cool it will ya? I don't need Pops or Bruno wonderin' what's goin' on!"
Molly nodded, trying hard to reign in her excitement and put on a serious face, but she couldn't help the grin that still found its way to her face. "Sorry, I'm just so happy for ya! Is she pretty? Did you two dance the night away?"
Anthony grimaced, preparing to hide his true feelings. "Er...not exactly," he said waving a hand about. "We kinda just...sat at the bar and talked."
Molly tilted her head. "Oh. Well, that's nice too, I guess. I'll bet she was gorgeous!"
Anthony thought back to that night. He could easily picture the man's soft looking chocolate tresses that he really wanted to run his fingers through, and his handsome mug with his perfect facial and bone structure that the blonde longed to caress, and those deep eyes Anthony found incredibly easy to get lost in. And that smile. That damn smile followed Anthony home that night and had been stuck in his mind ever since. His voice was extremely nice too. Smooth as silk and a nice timber without being too deep. Unbeknownst to Anthony, he was blushing. But Molly picked up on it.
"Ah! I see that blush mistah! You must really like 'er!" she squealed.
Anthony's blush deepened but he tried to play it off by shrugging. "I-I don't know I just want to talk to her again. Our conversation was cut a bit short. I uh...I never even got her name. Pretty foolish of me huh?"
Molly giggled. "Well, you two definitely need to be properly acquainted then! When are ya meetin' next?"
Anthony sighed. "That's the thing Molly Dolly. I don't know. And she's not from here, she's just visiting from down south until the end of March."
Molly frowned. "Well, that stinks. But maybe you'll run into 'er!"
Anthony scowled and shook his head. "It don't matter anyway. I don't want a relationship (which at this point was a lie that he kept trying to tell himself), and Pops is definitely gonna want me to marry some broad in the Family, which I can guarantee the chick from the joint ain't."
Molly rested a hand on his shoulder. "Go find 'er Tony. I've never seen ya so interested in someone before. 'Sides, it's like you said, you've got a few years before Pops tries to set you up with anyone. Enjoy them!"
Just because Molly made an exceptionally good point, didn't mean all of Anthony's problems magically cleared up. Oh no, he still had a plethora regarding this situation.
