"Hurry up y/n we're skipping school!"
Ningning smiled

All I could do was gape in awe at the absurdity of my friends. We're they actually being serious? Had Karina gotten to their heads or something? What was even going on at this point?

My head immediately was filled with endless questions and I could not make out a single word. It was as if some sort of invisible lump in my throat had formed to prevent me from saying something that made sense.

"I- wait what?" Was all I could say before Karina lowered her window and rolled her eyes.

"Just get in the car y/n!" She yelled from one of the back seats.

I could see the irritated look in her eyes as she said those words. Did what happened yesterday really mean nothing to her? Did she really hate me that much?

I stood there, I couldn't help but feel a quivering pain as the tone of her words spilled out like poison. Ugh there I go being all dramatic again. This whole thing felt like a fever dream. But I felt like I had no choice. I suspiciously walked over to the car and hopped in the back seat as we drove off into what felt like nothingness.

🌀

I gazed out the window as Ningning and Winter rambled on about where we were all going.

"Okay y/n, so here's the plan, as you know we're skipping school!" Ningning said enthusiastically with a small squeal as Winter gave her a light push on her arm signaling her to pay attention to the road.

"And that's pretty much all we don't really have a plan..." Ningnings smile faded slightly as she thought.

"We should probably go out and eat first, both ningning and I haven't eaten breakfast yet, so we should probably start from there and then plan what we're going to do."

"So, where are we eating?" Karina questioned as she slightly tilted her head to the side. The sun was bright, it reflected on karina's dark hair making it a light brown color.
"Not really sure...what do you think y/n? You've been really quiet this whole ride." Winter said as she turned her back to face me.

I imminently froze, fuck, I had been too quiet. I looked up at winter as I scrambled for somewhere to eat.

"Uh, not sure, maybe Karina might know."

My eyes went round, why the actual  hell did I say that? Had I officially lost it? I quickly turned around to look at Karina to see her already shooting daggers at me with her eyes.

Karina then turned to winter. And plastered a small smile on her face as she said that Starbucks was where she would want to go. She narrowed her eyes at me before turning back around.

What was her problem?

What was my problem?

I scoffed slightly before I looked back out the window. It's like our relationship went back to zero.I had worked quite hard for us to get along, now what was the issue? Was it something I said?

I turned to Karina, we needed to talk. I needed to know what I did wrong.

"Hey-" I managed to say before Ningning spoke.

"We're here~" Ningning said in that sing-song voice of hers. And not going to lie, Ningning sang abnormally well, like, she could become the main vocalist of any girl group if she wanted.

I inhaled longingly before I got out of the car, I guess I could talk to Karina about this later.

🌀

The inside of Starbucks was surprisingly empty. Well, despite the fact that it was 8:26am on a school day.

The Starbucks smelled absolutely heavenly, I took a small breath in as I tried to inhale as much of the good scent as I could.

The whole group decided to sit on a small table near the window. It was nice and nostalgic In a way. It reminded me of when it was just me, Ningning, and Winter. We would always sit at the table near the window, it was pretty much our thing.

I took a seat on the edge and then I felt it. My eyes rounded as I tried not to look beside me. Karinas skin only slightly grazed on mine before she scooted over a bit. I gulped and bit my lip. "Pull yourself together y/n, she's just sitting beside you. No big deal."

I took a quick glance at Karina from the corner of my eye.God, why was she so good-looking?

I saw Karina as she pulled a hair tie from her bag and pulled her hair into a messy ponytail. Her skin practically glowing in the dim light, it was making me mad. How could someone look so attractive all the time?

The second Karina looked in my direction I immediately looked out the window. I was so focused on what had just happened that I didn't notice the waiter come by.

"Hello, I just wanted to say that you're, like, really pretty." The waiter said, then I realized, she was talking to me?!

The waiter had long, flowy brown hair that reached to her waist. She had big doll-like puppy eyes and perfectly glossed heart shaped lips.

I blinked in pure confusion, she thinks I'm pretty? It felt good but confusing at the same time. I realized I had taken way too long to respond and I immediately said something.

"Oh, thank you so much, you're gorgeous as well." I said, and this time, it didn't sound hurried or panicked, my voice sounded laid back, normal.

The waiter's face flushed as she moved on and took her order. That was weird.

I looked at Karina after the waiter left. Her jaw was clenched and she narrowed her eyes at the waiter's back.

"Seems like y/n has a little fan girl~" Ningning said in a teasing tone as she wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"It's the y/n effect guys." Winter jokes.

Karina visibly wrinkled her nose. "Hah, what are you guys talking about, the waiter was just being nice."

Ningning gave Karina a questioned glance, and soon that glance turned into a sly smile."Looks like someone's jealous." Winter grinned.

Karina knitted her eyes together as her face turned a bright shade of pink.

"What? You guys are insane! I never said that." Karina defensively stated.

"Whatever you say Karina." Ningning mocked as she contained her laugh.

I had never been so confused in my life before. Karina? Jealous? It seemed like some sort of sick joke. I couldn't help but feel a laugh forming in my mouth.

Karina would never see me the way I saw her, and I had already accepted that. It was time to finally move on.

After a few minutes the same waiter came by with our coffee.

"Here, take a napkin." The waiter told me as she handed me the soft paper.

"Thanks." I said with a polite smile.

I opened up the folded napkin so I could place it beside me when I saw numbers. Could it be? The waiter had written her phone number on the napkin?

Maybe I had just found the perfect way to move on.
