A/N: This is the last chapter of this book I saved. From now on, all chapters will need to be written again.

At the quarry, Andrea and Amy are fishing in a canoe. Violet hates fishing, so when Andrea offered for her to tag along, she refused.

It's been silent so far. Andrea's been staring at Amy for a bit. Amy pretends to not notice, but eventually speaks.

Amy: What?

Andrea: Nothing.

Amy looks at the water.

Amy: It's not nothing. It's always something.

Andrea: ...Didn't dad teach you to tie nail knots?

Amy: Why would he do that? He only ever used a fisherman's knot.

Amy tries to fish, but she feels Andrea's eyes on her. She looks at her sister.

Amy: One knot.

Andrea: No, he didn't. No, he tied at LEAST three.

Amy: Clinch knots? No way.

She looks back at the water.

Andrea: Fine. I'm makin' it up.

Amy chuckles. She slowly reels the bait.

Andrea: ...Did dad teach you mostly dry lines?

Amy: Yeah. You?

Andrea: Wet.

Amy looks at Andrea.

Amy: You're kidding. But he was always so adamant. And you know dad on the fishing thing.

Andrea: Gee, you think? I only spent my entire childhood with my ass in a boat. But in my day, it was all about getting the hook seated. We were fishing for the dinner table.

Amy: Not US. We ALWAYS threw them back. Always.

Andrea: I guess he changed things up.

Amy: But that'd be like...changing his religion or something.

Andrea: People change. It's not his fault the three of us were born fifteen years apart.

Amy: No. No, because...the minute you went off to college, it was mine and Vi's ass in that boat, and he taught us dry lures from day one... This was not behavior developed over time.

They look away from each other. They start to get sad thinking about it.

Andrea: You think he did it for us?

Amy's on the verge of tears.

Amy: Because he knew we were so different...

She chuckles.

Amy: He knew that you needed to catch the fish and Vi and I needed to throw them back. Maybe that's why she didn't wanna come out... Because she can't stand taking the fish that she learned to throw back.

Andrea inhales.

Andrea: Alright, remember his rule: no crying in the boat... It scares the fish.

Amy: Mom and dad... I mean, maybe Florida wasn't hit so bad. She says, looking at Andrea. Maybe it's better there... Do you think?

Andrea looks at Amy. Andrea doesn't know how to answer. Amy nearly starts sobbing, but her reel starts moving.

Andrea smiles and holds back her tears.

Andrea: I think you have a bite. Even with the wrong knots. She says, looking at Andrea.

Andrea sniffles as they both wipe away their tears.
