Abbie

I couldn't help but cry as we continued to drive. I wiped my tears as my Wolf, Merida continued to howl of sadness. There was nothing either one of us could do, but cry. I had never felt so alone, so unwanted. My pack didn't want me, my father didn't want me. No one... no one cared, "Nobody is coming to save us, Merida. We're done for." I mind-linked my Wolf, making her howl louder. I could feel her sadness, just like she could feel mine.

"ENOUGH ALREADY!" the taller man yells, as the car comes to a sudden halt. The driver turns, striking me on my cheek and making me go unconscious.

I wasn't sure how long it had been, by the time I regained consciousness, the sun was beginning to set. I heard growling, snarls, and sounds of snapping bones. The car had been overturned, making me realize we had crashed with another vehicle. Since I had been unconscious, my body had hit the roof of the car, making my back feel sore.

My eyes went wide, making me stand abruptly and causing me to hit my head on the top window. I had to get out of here. I struggled my way out, making me gasp as my hand got cut by the shattered glass.

There was a fight happening. The rogues that had taken me fought against two other wolves, one big gray wolf and a big brown one. They didn't smell like rogues, meaning I doubted that they were rogues as well. But they had a distinct smell and a strong aura, meaning they had high positions. I pulled myself, fighting through the pain from the shattered glass, and got out of the car when one Wolf hit the car, making me scream. My body fell, hitting the floor, and barely missing them as the wolves wrestled.

"Get out... Go!" the gray wolf says, making me shake my head as I back away crawling. "I... I can't!" I said, scared out of my mind as I saw myself caught in between. One of the rogues bit the gray wolf on his hind leg, making him growl as he snapped back, biting his back. The rogue Wolf howled in pain, letting go of him quickly.

"Go! There's no time. Save yourself!" he yells, making me look at him with wide eyes. His Wolf was still young, but he was powerful, I could tell. I was still in shock, unable to move. The other Wolf throws the other rogue, making him hit the car with a loud thud and making me scream as I feared being hurt. "Get out of here, kid!" the older Wolf yells before he launches at the wolf by the car, making me duck, covering my head.

I can't.. I'm scared!" I said to him before he turned and grabbed the rogue Wolf by the throat. The rogue kicked, hitting him in his ribs and making him lose his grip on him. The rogue looked at me, chuckling evilly. "Sit tight, little Wolf. I'll deal with these rogues. Then I'm coming for you!" he says, making my eyes widen in fear. My heart was beating out of my chest. Merida whimpered.

I hated being so weak. We hadn't trained a day in our lives, I had no idea what to do.

"Leave! These guys are strong. I don't know how much longer we can hold them off!" he yells, making my eyes water.

"I... I don't have anywhere to run." I admitted as I shook in fear. "We'll find you. Just go!" he says, making me look to the side as I see an open path.

"Leave now! or you WILL get hurt!" he says, as the rogue chuckles. "So much for the notorious rogue King. You're journey ends here King. I'll make sure of that!" one of the rogue wolves says as my eyes widen in shock. The rogue King? But, he doesn't smell like a rogue. His scent is different, just like the other Wolf with him. The ones that had taken me from my pack smelled bad, like rotten meat, and old blood, just like I've heard rogues smelled.

The rogue King? He's a rogue... why would he help me though? I made a mental note to look for him and thank him later. I stood, uncertain if I'd make it out alive, but I had to. I had to try. "I'll show you what the rogue King can do. You'll be sorry you ever crossed paths with me, you fucking rogue!" he says as he lunges at him, biting his neck.

The other rogue gets thrown across the car and smashes onto the tree behind me, making me shriek and cover my head.

"GO! GO NOW, KID!" the older Wolf yells, making my eyes tear as I nod and run the other way. "Thank you," I say, making him nod.

There was no going back. I can't even go back to my pack. If I did, there was no way I would be welcomed there. My dad would kill me if I did go back. I had nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.

I ran, ran as fast as my legs could go. I didn't dare look back as I heard them fight. The loud growls made me fearful as I ran through the forest, passing trees, branches, and more trees. The night came, and I continued to run until I finally ran out of breath.

I gasped stopping to catch my breath. My throat was dry, making me cough as I held my hand up to my burning chest and looked up at the sky. It was dark, the only light lighting my way was from the stars and thin crescent moon. My tears felt hot, and I couldn't help but fall to my knees as I felt the thick dry knot in my throat as I once more broke down in tears.

Fourteen years old, and I was all alone in the world. My mind clouded, should I even continue to run for dear life until my legs give out again? For how long? And until when did I have to run?

This wasn't fair.

"Not fair at all," my Wolf, Merida wailed through her tears. My body felt heavy, and my vision soon blurred as my legs gave out. Little by little, I began to close my eyes, feeling them heavier and heavier until I could no longer keep awake.
