Birthday

Y/n's POV
It has been 7 months since I married that asshole , and i love it here   , it's way better than living with my father , i am even head scientist,  i am responsible of all the laboratories in germa66 which is something i only dreamed about in the past

But the bad news is , i fell harder for niji , i am madly in love with him, hell i'd do anything for him

But i was depressed lately, because he never stopped drinking with girls , he once said he'd take me drinking with him , but he never did

Things except the fact that niji slept with multiple girls , everything was great , it was my favourite season, winter , i improved a lot of my experiments , i hang out with reiju-neesan a-lot, and today was my birthday, but i never thought about the bright side

I was walking down the corridor wearing my usual work fit , yeah ironic isn't it ? Working on my birthday, well it doesn't matter nobody besides reiju-neesan knows anyway

Also right now i have long hair , remember at the mission when niji said you should let it grow? Yeah i took that seriously.i also got myself bangs , they fitted me perfectly actually, i liked how they didn't cover my violet eyes completely

I entered the lab , got greeted, took my coat off and wore my lab coat, and started working
The girls that hang out with niji are going missing, one by one

I worked for hours till it was in the after noon , i decided it might be best if i ate something, so i went to the main tower , when i went i found reiju-neesan at the entrance

"Good after noon y/n-chan " she smiled
" good after noon " seeing her after work is such a stress reliever

" why don't you come walk with me for a bit , i have something for you " she mused and started walking
I followed her of course " really? What is it "
" it's a surprise " she giggled
That was kinda weird , scary to be exact but , i still followed her

When we arrived there was a fancy looking table with some fancy looking wine and food for two
" i had cossette prepare them for us , you could say after we eat , it's a girls night out " she winked
" really?! Thank you " i cheered

" but why ?"
" well because it's your birthday of course " she smiled
" i love you neesan " i hugged her tightly
Well you can't blame me , this was the first time in my life that somebody does something for my birthday , well not in my whole life , just after my mother passed away

After we ate we chatted for a while and of course I complained about niji but i never told her i love him , it's kinda sad actually, that i'm in love with an emotionless asshole, who sleeps with a different girl everyday

After finishing our food , reiju-neesan said we'll go into town, since germa was a war kingdom , and is mostly men , there weren't many stores or restaurants in town , and the town itself wasn't that big , but it was ok for me ' it's better than nothing'

Before we go , we met niji on the way out , it was winter so he had a coat on and god , did he look hot ? He was beyond that

" what's all the fuzz about, you never go out together, you only eat together or chat nothing more " he asked , frowning as usual
" it's he-"
" we wanted to & it's non of your business jerk " I interpreted reiju-neesan before she tells him , i am pretty sure he wouldn't care anyway

" that's weird, who would want to go out with you witch " he smirked
" ok but why the fuck do you hate me so much " i asked almost tearing but i acted fine

" well obviously because your annoying and not welcomed, also your a stubborn woman , with no sense of diplomacy " he said proudly while looking down at me

" ok ok i get it asshole " i said barely holding my tears in
" let's go reiju-neesan "

We went into our carriage and I stayed silent, we didn't say anything until reiju-neesan decided to break the ice

" are you ok y/n-chan " when i looked at her this time , she wasn't smiling, she looked concerned
" yeah why wouldn't i be ?" I asked casually

" you know that it's obvious right ?"
" what's obvious?"
" that you love him " she giggled
I of course, turned red
" wha-tha-thats not correct " i said tightening my grip on my dress and looking down

" it's ok , i already knew several months ago , when you kept staring at him while eating, then I noticed you keep staring at him alot , like when he talks or when he grins" she chuckled

" i-i wh- n-no i never st-stare at him " I denied
" don't worry I won't tell anyone " she giggled

When we got back , it was night so we said our goodbyes and parted ways , since I still had some work to do i went back to the lab

I got the info that niji has some work as well, but he won't be back till tomorrow, i took advantage of that and went back to our room after i gave judge my report about today's work

When i entered the room , niji was no where to be found, ' thank god , I don't know how to face him after that i might instantly cry '

I changed into my pyjamas brushed my hair , until i found something on my desk , it was a gift box

As I opened it I found a silver necklace with a moon charm , and I found a book that i have been wanting forever
The gift box also had a card that said :

Your the first woman that i ever meet that prefers silver over gold, and books over make up , your weird shorty

After i read that i knew exactly who left me this

Flashbacks

I was sitting on the balcony at night staring at the moon when i heard someone say " why are you awake at such time woman " it was niji

" well today is a full moon why would i miss that "

I was getting ready in our room , i changed then i went to my jewellery box
" you literally have no gold in here shorty " niji asked kinda confused
" i prefer silver actually " i smiled at him

I was in my library looking for a book I couldn't find
" you've been looking for ages , it's not there give up " niji entered the library
" i know , this book is so rare i never found one in my whole life , i just hoped i will here , it's important for my work " i sighed

End of flashbacks

'He actually remembered?' I i was flustered by the gift , I couldn't contain my smile

This was infact the best day of my life
