While Jirou can come off a bit cold, she is one of Jen's favorite classmates, mainly because of how chill, friendly and honest she is and not to mention she isn't the one to play with when she's provoked to anger, which made it easier for Jen and Jirou to seamlessly become friends and get along with.
Jen finds it cool that Jirou is passionate about music, mainly rock music and even one time made a witty comment saying Hayley Williams from the band, Paramore, needs to watch her back.
Even though she didn't find it that funny, Jirou couldn't help but blush and smile a little as she also realized that Jen said it was also intended to be a compliment on her passion and talent because she knows she can get embarrassed about it.
However, once she talked to Jen about it, she knew she can go to her about anything since Jen never made her feel embarrassed or ashamed in it, instead she supported her passion in music. This showed Jirou that Jen has a very caring side despite how she can some off to some people such as stubborn and making rash decisions at times. She had no reason to lie to Jirou as Jen was also an honest individual, so she made her feel a little bit more confident in her passion.
Over the past year Jen has been at UA High School, Jen has become one of Jirou's best friends.
