Mask has nothing on this poor boy's wounds.
Mask was scared and had began to hide behind me.
"It's okay, Mask." I reached behind me and scratched his back.
"I'm Tetra." The girl finally said, "Who're you?"
"I'm Link, but that's Link." I said, pointing to the small, wounded boy, "Is there anything we could give him a nickname after?"
"Well...I suppose he has the Wind Waker."
"Then should we call him Wind?"
"I guess...I'll slip and say Link a few more times, though, I'm sure. But I'll try my best to respect his new name."
"Thank you, Tetra."
"No problems here."
We all sat in silence for a bit while Tetra tried to apply pressure Wind's wounds.
"What happened? Why're you guys hurt so badly?" I interrupted the silence.
"Oh-?" Tetra seemed to be a bit panicked by the question, "Uh..."
She lifted her right hand and scratched her head to stall.
"So? Why?" I asked again.
"N-No reason."
"Well there's obviously a reason, Tetra. You guy's wouldn't be hurt if there wasn't a reason."
"We we're trying to forage for food and found a monster camp... Link- Wind took the first and strongest blow for me, and we ended up being able to defeat them all. That's how he got this."
"What about you?"
"Me? When I was carrying him here to try and find help, more monsters attacked."
"Where were they? We need to know."
"They're at...Uhm... Pretty sure they're at southwest entrance nine o'clock out the door."
"Alright. So if I were to go there right now, they'd be to my left?"
"Yeah."
We stopped talking for a minute, and all you could hear was the soft, quiet, pain-filled whimpers and moans Wind made, trying to make an effort to build enough energy to open his eyes.
It made Tetra really sad. Or so it looked like, at least.
When she sighed—Which she did a lot of in the span of five minutes—It sounded like something was giving up. I don't think she thought Wind could make it.
I knew she hoped he could, but she didn't truly believe he could.
As a result, she began to cry, pulling her partner close to her own, trying to give him the last bit of attention she could.
She cried with him in her arms for what seemed to be hours, but it only ended being about ten minutes.
After all, we had to run here after the chase with Mask, then struck nine-thirty.
"Do you want to see if we could get help for him?" I asked Tetra.
She nodded.
"Okay." I walked over to her quietly and speaking softly, "Let me carry him so you don't get hurt."
Tetra walked on my right side, occasionally stumbling due to the wounds she had on both legs.
Mask stayed on my right side, as far as he could away form Tetra while still being close to me.
Mask held closely to my loose shirt.
I didn't have my knight's gear on right now, even though it's strictly prohibited to wear casual clothes outside the castle gates.
