(So, I was doing this to see if I really wanted to make a Hyrule Warriors fic or not. I don't know how long this'll be.)
It switches perspectives all the time like my story—A Bond Between Heroes.
I was practicing in the training yard.
All was going well until I slipped on a mud puddle and fell.
I huffed with embarrassment and frustration, and the others laughed at me, dropping their swords.
"Men!" Impa yelled, "Get back to training! You want to be ready for those monsters, don't you?"
We all stood up straight with our hand up to our forehead.
"Yes ma'am!" They all yelled.
I didn't.
I don't talk much in public settings.
Hours of practice crawled vertically up a mountain.
By that, I mean it was going extremely slowly, almost to the point of no movement.
Until I heard noises outside.
By this time it was dusk, around eight o'clock.
No one ever left castle walls after dusk.
Not even me.
Well...Except for now. It didn't sound like a hoard of monsters.
I walked out, sneakily peering around the corner.
It was a boy. A boy dressed in green with a mask half over his face, which had blue eyes, staring blankly around at Hyrule Field.
His gaze turned to a fast glance at me, then began sprinting off and away very quickly.
I chased after him.
I think he thought I was a monster.
Once I eventually caught up to this corner-cutting, mask-wearing little boy, he noticed me, but in his struggle to speed up, tripped and fell over his own feet.
He rolled over so he was laying in his back, then sat up—Keeping a close watch on me—with his shaky hands over his face.
His mask had fallen off.
It took me no longer to realize his face and my own looked similar. Very similar.
"D-Don't hurt me!" He cried, still keeping his little hands up over his head, "I-I'm sorry I r-ran! I-I-I got scared- and-and thought you would hurt me!"
I kept my sword in its sheath and walked over to the little boy, then sat next to him under the now-starry sky.
"I won't hurt you." I told him.
"Y-You have a nice voice." He said to me, grabbing my arm with his left hand.
This little guy had a lisp. He seemed to have trouble with the letters c and s, then the sound of th.
"What's your name, little guy?" I asked.
"Me? You want to know my name?"
"Yeah. We might be able to be friends."
"Friend...? What's a friend?"
I looked down at him, us both confused, staring one another in the eyes.
He had to be joking. All kids know what a friend is. All adults know what a friend is.
Everyone knows what a friend is.
"Is a friend good?" He asked again.
"Yes. Now, what is your name?"
"My- Uh... L-Link? I think that's right...It's been a while since I actually...I dunno...Have seen another living thing other than a monster."
