In the middle of the night, I woke up to a door slam.

It wasn't the most pleasant way to wake up, but I'm glad I did. Maybe something was wrong.

I walked out of my room, making sure Mask was still asleep in his bed, and sure enough, he was, fast asleep and making little snores every time he breathed outward.

And so I checked all the doors.

Spirit's door was wide open and his bed sheets were thrown aside in what seemed to be a panicked manner, making me a little anxious. I was scared of what happened.

Maybe he just had to use the restroom?

So I checked the bathroom door. It was closed.

I figured it would be locked, so I knocked on the wooden door.

I heard shaky, panting breaths that sounded fearful, and then soon, following those, the words, "I-It's open..."

I opened the door.

"Are you alright?" I asked, not even taking a glance at him.

I heard a cough, followed a small choke and a spit into the toilet.

I think he just got a little sick.

I looked at him, and he had thrown up into the toilet.

"Do you want me to get you a glass of water, or just stay here?" I asked him.

He didn't respond to me.

"Do you want water?" I repeated.

He nodded this time.

I think he was just looking for a yes or no question to shake his head instead of forming words. Which is fine, because I used to do that, too, with my parents when I was sick.

Walking into the kitchen, I found Wind sleeping on the floor. I honestly couldn't tell if he was asleep or dead.

He couldn't be lying more still.

So, concerned, I patted him on the back.

"Hey...!" He muttered.

"Just making sure you're alive, buddy." I patted his head, stood up and walked away.

"Wait!" I heard Wind exclaim, "Come back!"

"Huh?" I asked.

I looked back to Wind, who was fully awake now, with his left arm stretched out to me.

I walked back over.

"What's wrong?" I asked once more.

"I want you to stay with me, please. It's dark!"

"What do you want me to do, Wind?" I sat down next to him.

"I want you to stay and sleep next to me. ...On the floor..."

"I have to get Spirit some water. He got sick."
