Introduction - Pt. Whatever at This Point

Mask then patted the floor lightly in front of him, with his legs kind of in a stretched position, making him look a little funny. Though I think that may be his intention.

Spirit walked over to him very slowly, keeping himself slouched over and his arms covering the softest parts of his body.

Mask held his hand out for Spirit to set his on.

Spirit would go about a quarter way, then coil his hand back in fear that Mask would hit his hand or something. Eventually, Spirit set his hand shakily on Mask's.

Mask smiled at him.

Spirit hugged him.

"Why'd you scream like that?" Spirit asked.

Mask looked sad for a moment, trying to think of an excuse other than telling Spirit what had really happened to him.

"Because I don't like getting shots." Mask finally thought something up, "It feels like a shot."

"Oh. I thought someone was killing you."

Mask seemed guilty for a moment, but didn't end up answering.

"Wanna hear a song?" Mask eventually asked Spirit.

"Yeah."

Mask lifted his ocarina to his mouth again, and played a somewhat cheerful song.

"This sounds like Clock Town. Is it?" Spirit asked, "I've heard the song before. It's my favorite song from my classes. How do you know it?"

Mask finished his song, then answered, "Because I lived there. In Termina, all on my own...That's how I got these masks, too. I hate them all with a burning passion." Mask smiled at his bag of masks.

"How do your masks make you transform like that?"

"I'm not exactly sure...But one thing I do know about them is that there's a spirit of someone inside every single one of them."

"Have you ever fought a battle with them?"

"Yes. Many, actually."

"Can you tell me a story?"

"...! ...I could, but it's late, and I want you to sleep tonight. Aren't you tired?"

"Exhausted, but I'm too excited to meet everyone!"

"Why don't you get to bed, then, so you can meet everyone without being so tired?"

Spirit nodded and went to probably go find Wind and Tetra. He seems to know them very well.

Mask looked at me with an emotion that wasn't exactly fear, but some form of it that about made me shiver with it myself. Mask was terrified of taking this mask off.

He knew it would hurt, and so did I.

I felt horrible just letting him do it, but I'm no restraint to a hero. Especially not one who has the power to transform into something completely double himself.

I saw Mask begun to pull at his face, leaving bloody streaks down his face, and making his scars bleed.

As he set the mask in his lap, Mask began to cry.

I gave him a soft, light hug.

Minutes later, he stopped crying, then sat up to face me.

"You don't need to take care of me," He said with a sniffle, "I'm good on my own, you know."

"But that mask really hurts you. I want to make sure you're okay."

He just looked back down at the mask he held, unsure of what to say back.
