You stop and crouch down beside the roses. Faintly in the distance you hear a low growl, the noise like a rumble of thunder. Gradually the sound peeters away and you relax slightly.
You're not out of the Maze yet. But the end feels near.
With growing anticipation, you stand up and continue your journey.
