The second you reach the light, you walk into it, stumbling forward into an alleyway. You gasp, turning around only to meet with a wall of bricks. You blink, heart still racing against your chest. A sound of a car honking catches your attention. Looking at the end of the alleyway, you see roads and pathways, people walking to and fro, ignoring you.
Sucking in a deep breath, you walk out of the alleyway and into the daylight, sun shining bright onto you. You squint, eyes watering at the sudden change of illumination. Then, relief washes over you as you recognise the stores located on either side of the alleyway.
You're home.
You made it.
And then, you run. You run back to your family who no doubt are worried about you and to your life.
Never again will you go investigate strange mazes and abandoned buildings out of curiosity.
You learned your lesson and you hope to never come across the Maze of Mysteries ever again.
