The roar appears to be coming from ground level. You figure that climbing upwards will be the best way to escape the creature. At the same time, you might even be able to get a glimpse of the Maze from above.

Grabbing onto the vine, you find it to be strong and sturdy. Eagerly, you begin to climb, aiming to put as much distance between yourself and the ground as possible.

As you near the top of the vine, your head strikes something solid and a gasp of pain escapes your mouth. After nursing your new wound, you tentatively feel upwards.

An invisible barrier prevents you going any further.

A guttural roar catches your attention, and you look down. There, staring up at you, is a hideous creature, with bloodthirsty eyes and blood-speckled fur. You recognise it from Greek mythology. It's a Minotaur.

It grabs hold of the vine, and rips it out of the maze wall with ease, shaking the vine - and yourself - round like a leaf. You manage to cling on for a couple of minutes, but a particularly violent jolt causes you to lose your grip on the vine.

Unable to get a proper handhold, you plunge downwards, towards the waiting beast below.
