Zutara I

Chapter 6- Together

The walk back with Zuko seemed to last forever. I kept trying to speak with him but he wouldn't say anything back, let alone listen to me.
"Zuko, you got to understand, I've been under a lot of stress-
"That's no excuse! You should stop thinking about your petty love life and think about important things- like us possibly dying from starvation-"
"That's not going to happen!" I scream.
Zuko gets really quiet.
"I understand, I'll apologize to everyone. But we need to stick together and stop fighting and getting jealous" I say.
"You're right Katara, that's what we need to do," Zuko says sternly.
"How- how can I make it up to you?" I ask.
"You don't need to-" Zuko stops short. "You seem to like ponds, why don't I take you to one of my favorite spots?,"
He asks.
I nod. "Just make sure I'm not tired." I laugh.
He looks up at the sky. "Should we go now Katara?,"
"No, I have a few things to say to Sokka and Toph and Aang"
"That's what I was hoping you would say," Zuko says.
"Sure it was," I laugh.
"What is that supposed to mean?,"he asks.
"I don't know, you're cute. Sorry, that was ready unnatural,"
"Well, maybe I can get used to it,"
"You really have changed Zuko,"
He smiles. "You talked so much that we arrived"
I take a deep breath. "Well, here I go"
Aang and Sokka and Toph all run up to me and embrace me at once. Overwhelmed, I start crying.
"I'm so sorry, I ran away out of anger and we need to stick together as a team and love each other"
My voice gets all shaky from tears.
"You don't need to say anything, we can feel it," Toph says.
"In our hearts," Aang adds.
"Yep!," Sokka says loudly.
"I wouldn't be anywhere without you crazy people. I love you,"
Over the crowd of hugs, I see Zuko smile at me. And my worry faded. I had these people, my family, and loved ones. As long as I had them, why would I need to worry?
So I didn't. :)
