"We're all very excited Jimin," Taehyung said. "But please keep your excitement under control."

The grip Taehyung had on me was different. It was possessive, and I could feel his fear of loosing me. I knew he didn't trust his brothers.

None of them.

And I couldn't even blame him. No one in this palace was worthy to trust.

"Of course," Jimin bowed. "I will leave you two alone." He gave us a last smile and left the room.

It was silent again in the room and I didn't dare to turn around to look at Taehyung. His grip was still tightly on me.

"You know I trust you right?" He finally spoke after a while.

I wasn't ready to answer but I was also afraid that he would start to lose his patience with me. So far, he had been nothing but wonderful, and a real gentleman, but he didn't have to go through any of these emotions.

I was afraid that things would change between us and the perfect time we had spent together would be over.

"But I don't trust my brothers. It's nothing special to Jimin but I don't trust any of them." His expression turned into a mix of sadness and anger. "I would prefer if you would stay away from them."

I bit my lip, letting the weight of his words fall on my shoulders. I haven't done it intentionally but I still hurt him.

"I grew up in an environment where people married out of commitment and power, including my own parents." His voice grew softer as he looked at me. "I'm one of the lucky ones who married out of love, I really care about you. My brothers would never understand."

He reached out, his finger grazing my cheek and stroking my cheekbone.

"I don't care about pain. I can deal with any kind of torture. But when I saw you with Jimin, I thought that he..." He trailed off, face twisting with a mixture of pain and jealousy.

In that moment, he wasn't Kim Taehyung, the cold and mysterious prince; he was Kim Taehyung, the loving husband, who would burn down the whole world for his wife.

Our hands fit perfectly together, and he gave mine a light squeeze.

"I want to protect you from any harm coming from this family, but you need to promise me to stay away from my brothers."

"I'm sorry I made you think you couldn't trust me. But Taehyung, I love you. I would never let another man touch me as long as I'm your wife. I would never betray you like that. Never."

"I know," he said quietly.

"I promise that I will maintain my distance with them," I leaned over, giving him a kiss on his soft cheek.

"Hoseok stop drinking so much," Jungkook groaned annoyingly.

He had convinced Hoseok to go to a bar with him. He actually intended to inquire him about y/n, but if Hoseok would continue to drink in this pace, he would be too wasted to have an actual conversation with him.

"I can do what I want," he snapped back, feeling rebellious, he let loose. He waved his hand to call a waiter for another refill.

Jungkook sighed tiredly. "You have absolutely no self control when it comes to drinking. You're acting like a teenager who just got permission to drink."

Jungkook leaned back and watched his brother receiving a refill and seeing his plans to inquire his brother go to waste.

"What is the reason behind this desire of yours to drink so much." He tilted his head. "Are you trying to numb a pain perhaps? Heartbreak for example?"
