"My kids" Dad greeted us when we got to the location of the party.
"All this you" Zion asked
"Better believe it" Dad smiled "I want you to meet my wife"
"Hello" a petite woman with graying hair smiled at us
"Kids this is Sandy" He kissed her cheek
"Nice to meet you" I smiled
"Charmed" Zion smiled
"He has your smile Josef" Sandy smiled
"That's my boy" He put his arms around us and lead us to the back. He walked around introducing us to people for awhile.
"Zariah this is Zeke. He feeds the babies here. When they are rejected by their families"
"Hello" Zeke smiled
"Dance mingle" he walked away with Zion and showed him to some girl
"So that's your dad" Zeke chuckled
"Found out last week" I shrugged
"He always talked about his sons. Didn't know he had a daughter" Zeke laughed

"Zion I think dad just tried to hook me up with the dude who feeds orphan animals" I found him

"Not sure" She shrugged
"Nan" I walked off
"Watch it boys. Y'all can't handle this" Nan was breaking it down on the dance floor in the middle of a dance circle "this how stella got her groove back"
"Uncle Meech" I walked over to him
"What's up" he asked
"I think Dad isn't accepting of us" I sighed
"Screw him" Uncle Meech rolled his eyes "as a father all he should care about is if his daughter is with someone who lives and takes care of her. And Shiloh does" Uncle Meech hugged me
"You seen T and Shiloh" Zion walked over to us
"Nah, not since your dad ushered you two off" He shrugged
"Man" I sighed
"Nan having fun" Zion chuckled
"Too much" Uncle Meech laughed
"Kids" dad walked over
"What's the big idea. Your food boy was hitting on me. Dad what part of I'm gay didn't you get" I asked
"Woah let's back up 10 stops" he chuckled " I heard you load and clear. I just thought you'd want to dance with him"
"Yeah and your enclosure girl was hitting on me" Zion crossed his arms
"I just want you both to enjoy your time. Like your Nan" he pointed to Nan on the dance floor
"You seen our significant others" I asked
"Nope" he smiled "hey I have a surprise for you kids" he handed us each a bag
"Lion tooth necklace"I looked at him
"It's wood carving" he chuckled
"A lion charm" Zion took his necklace out
"You have been the man of the family. Well under your uncle. You have been strong like a lion" he smiled
"Thanks" we smiled
"You pyscho" Shiloh ran up to us
"Honey why were they trapped in our bedroom with the door blocked" Sandy walked up to him
"What" he nervously laughed
"You said you wanted our help to surprise them and you trapped us in your room" Terra crossed her arms "talk or I cut"
"Easy babe" Zion wrapped his arms around her
"Talk" Shiloh shoved him
"Babe" I called out to her
She huffed and came over to me.
"I wanted to do something tonight. I thought this night would be special. I didn't know your father was so against us" She sighed
"Don't you say those things about me. I want what's best for my kids" he adjusted his clothes
"You had no idea who they were. You still don't" Terra yelled
"Your daughter likes women. Your son's girlfriend likes women and men. Big deal. Locking us in a room won't make us go away"
"I don't care about what she likes. The tattoos and piercings she looks like a tramp or something" He sighed "my son can do better"
"It's called body art" Zion yelled "and Terra is the best"
"And as far as my daughter being gay" He looked at me "it's because she didn't have her father around"
"I did. His name is Uncle Meech" I looked at dad.
"We wanted nothing more than to be in your life. But if this is what we are met with. We don't need you. Got this far without you" Zion shrugged
"Look you don't have to understand why they love who they love. You just gotta stand with them" Uncle Meech walked over
"This okay with you" He asked Uncle Meech
"My love for these two go beyond all that" he hugged us
"Not here. Not in this family" dad's father spoke "I've bit my tongue too long. A jezebel and whatever you two claim to be ain't family"
"You are such a lovely girl. It is a shame" dad's mom shook her head
"But earlier in the office" Terra began to speak
"Don't argue with them T" Shiloh stopped her
"You can't see past your own prejudices and hatred for family. Your loss" she walked over to me and got down on one knee
"For better or for worse" she smiled
"For better or for worse" I took the ring
She slid it on my finger and kissed me
"You all need to leave" Dad clenched his jaw
"Glad to loser" Zion turned his back on dad and threw the necklace at his feet and took T by the hand
"I see why mom left you in the jungle" I threw the necklace and took Shiloh's hand

We got a taxi back to the resort and booked a flight for the morning.
