Ravenna is in a rush to meet her impatient best friend, who is waiting for her to arrive for their dinner night to celebrate their achievement. Their gaming company is finally gaining recognition, alighting the top rankings of the businesses world.
A yawn escapes her mouth as she walks into the restaurant. She is tired. Her eyes are already half shut. Her dress is bringing her too much discomfort within every second her mind reminds the comfortable bed of hers. She needs rest along with a night of good sleep.
She is running inside the place when she bumps into someone's hard back. She whimpers and closes her eyes, rubbing her nose. Her sleepy mood is now long gone.
She feels a hand on her bare shoulder, which makes her leave her nose and look up to see a man staring back at her. A devilishly handsome one at that. For some reason, his steel blue looks so familiar and unfamiliar at the same time to her.
"Are you okay?" He asks and her mouth almost drops at how deep his voice is. His look is hard, making her take a small step back from him and shake her head.
"Yeah." Ravenna nods and mumbling a quick apology before walking past him and towards her friend in a hurry. A wave of happiness fills in her at the sight of her Chinese friend, Cedric Zhao in his glittery dinner jacket sitting on a table, drinking wine all alone.
"You're late, woman. I thought you ditched me for hot sex." Cedric says and sips on his red wine. It is very common of him to make sexual remarks openly with no shame. It is the way of him and Ravenna is mature enough to accept his ways as his best friend and business partner.
Straightening her dress, she speaks with a scoff. "And let you go on a parade at work tomorrow? No way."
Cedric chuckles with amusement and raises his wine glass. "Cheers."
Ravenna shakes her head with a smile and clicks her wine glass with his. "For our friendship and business."
"For our friendship and business." He repeats with an equal charming smile before they both drink the wine.
When their ordered food arrives, Ravenna is the first to dig into her food plate and she moans in delight as her taste buds fill with the delicious steak. "This is so good."
"Told you. I always chose the best." Cedric proudly says, eating his food and pushes the Sushi dish to her side. "You should try Sushi. You'll love it."
