Where it all began

Haley replays the night she  last her parents in her head, the night her whole life changed. She remembers  being on the ranch  hanging out with Kayce on the porch working on homework that should of been done hours ago. She remembers hearing the sound of  front door opening and the sound of johns boots  one the wooden porch  thinking  he was checking up on them to make sure they were doing there home work and not just  goofing off, looking up she saw the look on his Haley knew right away something was wrong. Not knowing the next words  would make her life turn upside down.

Stopping infant of them John took a deep breath sighing he looked at haley"Kayce I need to  haley alone"nodding his head Kayce grabbed his school books and headed inside. Haley looked up from her " this can't be good if you sent kayce inside, I promise we were actually doing our homework this time". John chuckled as he sat down next to her " Haley" hearing him sigh after saying her name, made her start to worry "Mr. Dutton, what happened" she asked moving her school books onto the floor. John looked up at her " Haley it's about your parents" she felt her heart drop into her stomach as her eyes started to water "Mr Dutton what happened to my parents". Taking a deep breath he looked over at her  " Im sorry darling, your parents were involved in a car accident, they didn't make it"

 Being brought out of her thoughts  she shook her head and looked over at her daughter Evenly.  "whats up sweetie" looking over at her daughter she smiled. There were times Evenly reminded her so much of her father Kayce, most days she was a mixed of both of them specially when she has her heart set on something. " the moving truck is outside and some guy named Rip" Haley  tiled her head to the side for a second before heading towards the front door. Seeing rip standing in her living room  as the mover's brought her furniture in and boxes, Haley smiled softly and she wanted over towards rip with her daughter following behind her  to get some boxes " well is this a blast from the past, what brings you here and how did you know I was here" Rip chuckled as he hugged her. haley hugged  him back and smiled  as they broke up looking up at him " Well, you see I was heading back to the ranch when i saw you and your daughter loading up the car" She crossed her arms and nodded at him"was this before or after John told you was coming  back and wanted you to make sure I was safe" Haley smiled and shook her head thanking the movers before walking over towards one of the boxes to start unpacking "I plead the fifth" Rip  walked over to help her with unpacking boxes" Im guessing that's your daughter, you know she looks a lot like Kayce and you" She smiled " she has our attitude too, Evenly" she shouted upstairs  for her to come. hearing her foot steps coming down the starts " yeah mom" standing at the bottom of the stairs looking at them " this is my  old friend rip I would like you to me.  Rip  this is my daughter evenly"  Evenly smiled and waved softly" Hi"  Rip waved back " Hi, nice to meet you" Haley smiled at them both before clapping her hands" rip I would love to  catch up more but we do have a lot of unpacking to do and  organizing " she said as she walked over towards the front door" Come by the ranch tomorrow see everyone I know they would all love to see you again" Haley froze just before reaching the door knob, Closing her eyes before opening the door " we shall try" After saying good  bye to rip, haley and evenly both went to unpack as much as they could 

That night they stayed in and ordered delivery  and decided to watch a movie. Haley thought about what Rip said earlier  about stopping by the ranch tomorrow. The truth was   she didn't think she was ready to go to the ranch, seeing John wasn't the issue. Haley was terrified of running into  Kayce. She hadn't seen him since the night before he left for the navy, he didn't even know that she was pregnant let alone with his child.  There was only two people that knew about it  Lee and John  they helped her leave that night and kept her secret for her.  Haley  hadn't reached out to kayce after that night, only Duttons she kept in touch with were Lee and John. Snapping out of her thought's she heard the end credits to Luca as she looked down at her daughter she smiled. Haley did have help from John as much as he could and yes there were times that she struggled not knowing certain nights if they be able to pay the bills.  But they made it through and things turned around for them once  she  got a stable job. Haley heard a knock on the door and looked at the clock seeing it was 9:30pm. Gently place evenly's head on couch pillow she got up and slowly walked to the door as she heard the knocked again, looking throught the peep hole. She took a deep breath before opening the door " Hey Beth, long time no see"
