(y/n) fixed the black bandages covering his right hand and wrist.

They seemed to be getting bigger each time (y/n) got more powerful. The first time he got them, they were white and barely covered anything other than his wrist, now they were pure black and covered a part of his fingers and quite a lot down his forearm.

Artemis hummed quietly and examined the cloth. "It's the curse."

(y/n) looked up at her in worry. "Curse?"

Artemis leaned back up and fixed her shirt. "Yes, curse."

(y/n) shufled nervously in his seat. "Which curse?"

Artemis folded her hands. "The curse I put in your body. To protect you."

"Your curse... " (y/n) mused. "Some monsters talked about it, but I thought it wasn't anything important."

Artemis furrowed her eyebrows. "Monsters who knew about it?"

"Yeah. Circe, some sea monsters, uh, a few gods, I think?" (y/n) shrugged.

"Of course," Artemis sighed. "I should've known some creatures would sense it."

"Sense it?" (y/n) echoed. "As in, sense my presence?"

  "Precisely, yes," she nodded.

"So my scent isn't strong? Is just the curse?" the prince grunted.

  "It's likely," the goddess muttered.

Artemis stared at her son. "What did you say Nightshade did, again?"

"It transformed into a greatsword," (y/n) repeated his old words. "A big, sturdy broadsword."

  Artemis raised an eyebrow.

"The type of sword," (y/n) explained. "Usually it's a longsword."

"What did it look like?" Artemis pressed.

"Uh, it was two-handed, ink black with a lot of red details in the blade and the handle, it had at least 2 inches of blade. It was way heavier than I expected," (y/n) noted.

  "Two inches?" Artemis repeated.

"Yeah," (y/n) nodded. "It was pretty big, I guess?"

"That's big for a sword," Artemis muttered.

"Are you two even listening to yourselves right now?" Thalia grumbled.

The two lifted their heads and hummed in confusion.

"You both sound so stupid," she giggled.

『••✎••』

Thalia hummed in thought, rubbing the back of her head. "Yeah, I got no idea."

(y/n) sighed. "Why can't this be easier?"

Reyna stared at the two. "It's just a door."

  "Yeah, it's locked," (y/n) groaned.

"How do you expect us to open it?" Thalia whined.

Reyna shook her head and stepped back. She ran up to the door and jumped with her feet turned towards the wood, so she slammed into the door, hard.

(y/n) and Thalia flinched back as Reyna burst through the wood with ease, as if the door never even existed.

"Well that's one way to do it," (y/n) muttered.

The two looked through the now open door and saw Reyna lifting herself from the ground. "You okay?" Thalia asked.
