Do you ever get that feeling that everyone around you is disappointed in you? Like you've let them all down, your family, your friends god even random strangers who walk past you in the street. You feel like the outsider who your family only have connections too because they're legally required too? But when your mom leaves then it really hits home, she didn't want you and there was no sugar coating that. But when the one role model in your life does, that hits home...

"I can't believe Boden is finally tying the knot!" Gabby said as she finished up with Louella's hair
"Neither can I, it's a little weird having it when you guys are on shift no?" Louella asked
"It's the day he wanted" Gabby shrugged
"I think Matt will ask you soon" Louella laughed
"He better" Gabby smiled
"But you've gotta promise me something!" Louella said as she touched up the last of her makeup
Gabby looked up at her
"I'm your maid of honour!" Louella smiled
"Sorry kiddo, shay already claimed that spot" Gabby said
"And the day you'll get to be her maid of honour is the day I die!" Shay smiled
"Fine, I'll settle for the bridesmaid" Louella laughed
"You ladies ready?" Kelly asked
"Yes!" Gabby smiled as they walked out
Everyone was gathered, Boden and Donna had the most beautiful ceremony. It was now the after party.
"So, when are you asking Gabby to marry you?" Louella asked
Matt then made a face
"No way!" Louella smiled
"Shhh! You cannot tell her!" Matt said
"Your doing it today right?" Louella asked
"That was the plan" Matt said
"Oh my gosh! I cannot wait!" Louella smiled
Just as Louella smiled the bell went off, it was a big one. They all jumped into their trucks as fast they could and raced off.

4 hours passed, which was unusual. A call this big only lasted about an hour. Louella had texted Kelly and Matt too many times, but none of them replied. You know how that feeling you get in your stomach, like deep down you know something is wrong but you also want that feeling not to be right. Well Louella had that feeling, someone was either injured or someone died. She was used to this feeling by now, her dad taught her all she needed to know about that atmosphere.

They finally arrived back at the firehouse, Louella stepped outside to greet them when she was met by Kelly, tears streaming down his face. He completely walked past her, that feeling was back. Her eyes then were drawn to Dawson, who left the ambo alone.
"Where's Shay?" Louella asked slowly walking over to Dawson
Dawson tried her hardest to hold back her tears but Louella knew, shay was gone. Shay wasn't coming back.
"She's gone isn't she?" Louella asked as the tears welled up in her eyes
"Im so sorry Lou" Dawson cried
"How did it happen?" Louella asked holding back the tears
"We're not sure. All we know is that she was struck and I couldn't save her in time" Dawson said as Casey wrapped his arm around her

That night was a mess, Louella could hear Kelly's sobs from his room. Dawson wasn't eating or saying anything. Casey was doing his best to be there for both of them but deep down, he was falling apart. This was the atmosphere the night Darden died. No one could come to terms with it. Louella worked up the courage to walk into Kelly's room. She simply looked at him and smiled
"Don't worry, My dad will take care of her" She smiled before walking out
Louella was greeted by Anna who had come over, she took one look at Louella
"She's gone, she's not coming back" Louella sobbed
"It's okay, she's safe now. She can rest" Anna said as Louella sobbed her heart out
But what Louella didn't realise was that Shay was yet another person she didn't get the chance to say goodbye too.
