"Nice talk, now Shoo...I want to sleep." She said making me chuckle as I nod before leaving the room letting her rest. I plop down on the sofa in the living room with my laptop ready to do some research before the interview.

"Let's do this, I want to be as prepared as possible. I don't wanna mess this up..." I mumble as I type 'Jacob Technologies' in the search engine.

I take a deep breath, entering the building looking around the beautiful, modern, and sleek interior. The reception area is a beautiful blend of black, grey, and white with a huge chandelier in the middle. To the left end, you could see 5 elevators with people coming in and out of them, and to the right you could see a single black elevator with a fingerprint scanner beside it...huh! Must be a private elevator. Comfortable-looking couches were on both sides of the entrance and in the middle, you can see a counter with a 20-something blond female working behind it.

I look down at my watch, showing 7:34 pm. I am early but better early than late. With confidence, I walk up to the receptionist before giving her a polite smile.

"Good afternoon, I am Miss Meraki Williams. I have an interview with Mr. Baldwin."

"Good afternoon, Miss Williams. Yes, your interview is listed here. Please take a seat I will inform Mr. Baldwin's assistant."

"Thank you," I say with a nod before walking away and taking a seat on one of the couches which is ridiculously comfortable!

*PING*

I take out my phone to see a message from Layla.

Lazy Ass: Hey! You there? Or the interview has started?

Me: Hey. No, I am still waiting as expected since I am early.

Lazy Ass: Good! I wanted to remind you to bring bread, soda, and chips. We are out of stock.

I roll my eyes.

Me: Seriously? That's why you messaged me!?

Lazy Ass: What!? I know you will rock the interview! Just bring the stuff!

I roll my eyes with a smile.

Me: Sure...anything else?

Lazy Ass: Nah! I am good! Best of luck!

"Miss. Williams?" I look up to see a brown-eyed brunette looking at me curiously while holding a file and open notepad in her hand.

I quickly pocket my phone before standing up and replying, "Yes. Are you Mr. Baldwin's assistant?"

"I am. Now, please follow me." I nod as I follow her to the private elevator where she scans her thumb before going inside and pressing the button second from the top.

The elevator opens to reveal a similar but smaller room with again a similar counter outside which must be the assistant's desk. She leads me to a pair of black and huge double doors opposite her desk.

"Mr. Jacob is waiting for you. Go in." She says curtly before she disappears behind her desk, allowing me to only see the top of her head. Oof! She seems...professional. At least I hope so otherwise it just means that she doesn't like me and I hope that's not the case.

Anyway, let's focus on nailing this interview first! I take a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"Come in." A deep, husky voice answers.

I opened the door and it was black! No...not as in there's no light but the whole office is black with white furniture...I mean the white couch on the left end of the room was so white I would be scared to sit on it in fear of staining it! Plus, I am sure the only way someone can see anything is because of the powerful lights in the skylight! In front of me is a big ass window looking over the city instead of a wall...yikes! It must be annoying during the day. My eyes drifted to the right to see shelves with books, files, and stuff as background and finally a sleek white desk and black chair in the middle.
