Meraki Hera Williams POV
"LAYLA! GET UP! GET UP!" I shouted excitedly as I shook Layla by her shoulder who was sleeping on her side of the bed, all the while holding my laptop in the other hand with a death grip and a shit eating grin on my face.
"What the fuck happened!?" She shouted, turning to lay down on her back to look up toward me while rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"I got an interview for a job at Jacob Technologies!" I exclaimed in excitement jumping up and down a little, which seemed to snap her out of her sleepy daze as her eyes turned as big as saucers before shooting up from the bed to sit up straight looking me dead in the eyes.
"That's freaking amazing!" She exclaimed with a grin as wide as mine before smirking in my direction and saying, "And I have enough confidence in you to know that you will nail that interview!" She said with a wink making me chuckle as I nodded and rolled my eyes.
"Well, of course! I just didn't want to seem overconfident by saying it out right!" I reply with a smirk and wink making her giggle as she nods before patting the bed space beside her, I nod and sit beside her with the laptop resting on my thighs.
"By the way, what is the position? I can't imagine it being too high up since you don't have a lot of experience..." She asks her eyes on laptop, reading the mail causing me to roll my eyes and huff.
"I would like to remind you that I have made and sold three remarkable security software's, I have interned at many notable companies, and I even made a very successful game which I later sold to Ubisoft, making me a good amount of money. All of which proves that I am quite capable of handling a demanding position considering I did all this while I was still in college. And they realized exactly that before offering me the head of their pharmaceutical tech department." I say with a smug smile on my face making her roll her eyes with a small smile on her face.
"You do realize you are way too smug right?" She says with narrowed eyes making me chuckle as I nod with grin making her laugh while shaking her head before a smirk form on her face. "But not the director of the software department, right?" I huffed with a pout before taking a pillow to hit her in the face after keeping my laptop on the bedside table which made her laugh even more.
"That's not fair! I mean that company has pharmaceutical, security, entertainment, and automobile tech departments and I will be the head of one of them! That's still amazing! I mean I don't even think it's possible to get a job as the director of all four departments without any business experience. I mean I might be good with codes but administrative work? Other than my associate degree I have no experience! You have a master's degree in business AND finance! There's a reason you are going to handle the administrative stuff in our future company! Plus-'
"Shut up, Mk I get it!" Layla yells cutting me off as she covers my mouth with her hand making me grumble as I swat away her hand, glaring at her as I sit back down on the bed.
"Stop, looking at me like that! You were rambling what was I supposed to do?" She defends herself making me roll my eyes.
"Anyway, I am sure we can kickstart our dream with my possibly large paycheck!" I say changing the topic with a winning smile on my face.
"True! Our current timeline was 5 years, but considering your job, we can start our company in only a year or two! But enough daydreaming, when is your interview?" She asks with a small smile.
"Tomorrow, at 8 pm," I reply causing her to look at me with a frown.
"So late?" She asks and I nod.
"That's what the email said..." I reply making her hum before she falls back on her pillow.
