Remembering

I remember the warm embrace that you give
despite the humid summer.
How we'd laugh at how uncomfortable it is
yet we still prefer being wrapped in each other.

I remember your back
how my mood changes from blah to cheery
How you'd turn and smile and say
you're glad to finally see me

I remember you wearing red
and I'd always say it's my fave
How you'd hold my hand and say you love me
and with me you'd always stay

I remember the first time we stood in the rain,
you were the happiest I've seen.
We walked down the street telling never-ending stories
of magic and the serene.

I remember so many moments
yet the shadows now won't reveal the moon.
They made all the happy moments only illusions,
and hope be shattered soon.

I remember remembering,
it was so easy with our heads up in the clouds.
Now neither of us wants to touch the memories
held in this box with thorns around.
