That Spark

I packed my stuff because it was almost time to head back. I changed into some sweatpants and a tank top, throwing my cheer jacket on too. I picked up my suitcase and left the cabin, meeting everyone by the parking lot before we boarded the bus. I sat where I sat before, looking out the window "Yes! I got asked to Prawn!" A kid shouted, scaring me half to death. I sighed, wishing that Zed would ask me, even though we aren't a couple

As I stared out the window, I noticed a sign unravelling "Reese will you" Everyone on the bus read, looking out the window "Go to the Prawn" We all spoke "With?" I asked as Addison and Bree shook my shoulders excitedly, I looked out the front window, noticing a particular green haired zombie standing on a ladder, screwing light bulbs into a huge arrow sign "Zed!" I gasped, and he flung his head around to face the bus with a shocked look

Everyone on the bus started screaming as we headed straight for him. The bus hit the ladder, flinging Zed onto the roof of the bus, he screamed as Shrimpy tried his best to keep us on the road. Zed slid off of the roof, finding a grip on the side, right in front of my window. I stared at him wide eyed, putting my hand on the window. He gave me a small smile, putting his hand on the other side "Hi" before falling off of the bus "Zed!!" I screamed

Suddenly the bus swerved toward the forbidden forest and I fell back into my seat, watching Zed out the window before when he left my sight. We hit the forbidden forests gate before finally coming to a stop "Is everybody ok??" Bucky asked, when he realized no one was terribly injured, he ran towards the back of the bus, opening the emergency door and running away from the forest "Nothing can happen to me! I'm way too important!!"

"Everyone stay calm" Addison announced. I gasped, realizing Zed was still out there. I ran out of the back door into the forest. I looked around, scraping my arm on a tree branch and wincing. I heard whispering and hissing and frantically looked around "Hello? Anyone there?" I questioned to no one in particular. My eyes widened seeing lots of people start to circle me, growling. A boy about my age prowled up about a foot away from me, his eyes glowing yellow and his teeth and nails super sharp. Something inside of me seemed to click seeing him. I whimpered in fear, making his eyes flicker a little before he howled, triggering everyone else to howl. I gasped as the boy ran from me, the rest following close behind him

I felt a hand touch my shoulder and I spun around, my fist hitting Zed square in the nose, making him groan in pain "Zed!" I gasped, pulling him in for a hug "I missed you too" He smiled "Werewolves!!" A yell called out, running over to us. We looked and saw Addison "I-I saw them! Werewolves were circling me! They howled at me!" She explained, the rest of the cheer squad behind her "What? Wolves?" "What wolves?" "Here wolves??" "Werewolves!!" The Aceys screamed, pulling their phones out and texting everyone about it. Zed looked at me as if to confirm what had been said and I hesitantly nodded

Later in town hall
I bounced my knee, thinking about my interaction with the werewolf boy earlier. I didn't tell anyone about what happened, and I haven't spoken since we got back into town. My aunt rushed through town hall's doors, searching around until her eyes met mine. She ran over and gave me a bone crushing hug "Oh honey I was so scared, are you alright? Are you hurt?" She asked, and I shook my head, assuring her I was ok "I'm just a bit shaken up is all" I told her

I jumped at the sound of a gavel making everyone quiet down "By order of City Council, effective immediately, all anti-monster laws are reinstated" She slammed down her gavel and that was that, and that was unfair. My aunt went to talk to Addison's parents and Zed came to stand in front of me "We need to talk" I told him "Yeah we do" He agreed "...Even though you didn't write or answer any of my letters-" "No" I cut him off "I wrote so much" I turned around, reaching into my backpack and pulling out my 'Pom-poms' "The Aceys shredded up all of our letters" I frowned, looking over to them, who all high fived each other

I flipped them the bird before looking back up at Zed. He put his hands on my shoulders "That's ok, we can glue those together later, and maybe after that we can go to Prawn together, right?" I shook my head "No, we can't" "What? Why not?" "Everyone's freaking out about the werewolves that the anti-monster laws got reinstated, meaning-" "Zombies can't go to Prawn" Bucky laughed in Zed's face "That means the only problem here is some bloodthirsty werewolves. We can sooo fix that" Zed smiled, and I shivered at the mention of the wolves

Zed and I went to Zombietown, even though I'm not supposed to be there, but no one is gonna stop me, so I don't really care. Zed went to talk to his dad and I sat next to Zoey on the sidewalk, and she was drawing a picture of a werewolf, she said she wanted a werefriend. She went over and nailed it to a light post "Zoey! Come on home, its not safe with all those werewolves on the loose" Zevon, her father told her "Just one sec" She said, finishing what she was doing. A demolition worker came over and looked at her sign, then looked at her, not noticing I was there

"Have you seen a werewolf? I'm looking for a werefriend" She smiled up at him "Silly kid, there's no such thing as werewolves" He smirked at her like he was hiding something "But we heard it howl" She frowned, her hope for a friend slowly fading "Maybe it was a hiker saying howls it going" He suggested "It was a werewolf" She insisted "Zoey!" Her dad called, and she turned around, running inside. The man looked up at me, his eyes slightly widening "Don't crush her dreams. It was definitely a werewolf that I saw" I told him angrily before walking away

That's the second chapter!!! I know it was short, but I thought it was a good place to end it
