Loki watched what happened from his Chariot.

Loki: Send the rest.

More Chitauri and Leviathans came out of the portal in the sky. Natasha sees this and calls it out.

Natasha: Guys.

Tony: Call it, Captain.

Steve: All right, listen up. Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof. Eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter.  Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash.

Clint:(To Tony) Can you give me a lift?

Tony: Right. Better clench up, Legolas.

Tony walks over to Clint and grabs him and he takes off flying.

Steve: Thor, you got to try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You got the lightning. Light the bastards up.

Thor starts spinning his hammer and takes off flying.

Steve: Me, Y/n, Lady Sif and Natasha. We stay here on the ground. We keep the fighting here. And Hulk...

Hulk turns and looks at Steve.

Steve: Smash.

Hulk grins and jumps onto the side of a building and starts taking out the Chitauri.  Thor then starts to send lighting at the portal, killing some of the chitauri and Leviathans that were coming out of it. 

It then cuts to Fury as he is watching different news channels covering the attack on New York. Hill comes walking up to him.

Hill: Sir. The Council is on.

Fury sighs.

We cut back to the battle and see Clint firing arrows at the Chitauri that are flying past him. 

Clint:(Comm) Stark, you got a lot of strays sniffing your tail.

Tony:(Comm) I'm just trying to keep them off the streets.

Clint:(Comm) Well, they can't bank worth a damn.

Clint then fires an arrow without looking and it kills a Chitauri.

Clint:(Comm) So find a tight corner.

Tony:(Comm) I will roger that.

Clint then shoots another arrow at a Chariot and it hits and starts making the Chariot melt in half. Tony then flies through some tight spaces and corners and  Clint was right as the Chitauri go crashing into the walls as they tried to follow Tony.

Tony:(comm) Nice call. What else you got?

Clint:(comm) Thor is taking on a squadron down on Sixth.

Tony:(Comm) And he didn't invite me.

A Leviathan can be seen heading towards an office building the people inside start to freak out but then they start to hear heavy footsteps so they all turn around and see the hulk running straight towards the Leviathan. Hulk then jumps through the window and grabs onto one of the teeth of the Leviathan. Hulk then pulls the Leviathan away from the building, but because of how big the Leviathan was the side sill hit hit the building, braking the windows.
