chapter thirty four

George's pov
"Okay on the count of three,class of 2020 smile...one ...two...three"click goes the shutter sound and we throw our caps up,shouting in jubilation and relief that we are through with our highschool.

"You look happy,care to share?" Amber ask next to me and I smile towards her,

"Does your left eye hurt?" I ask Amber who looks confused next to me.

"What"she replies puzzled and I chuckle.

"Cause you look right,"I continue with a laugh and she shoves me playfully just as our friends join us asking why I was laughing.

" He just used the cheesiest pick up line,"Amber replied and before anyone could talk ,our parents appeared and endless and endless pictures of us,mom and dad took many of their favorite 'daughter' Amber and us two and a couple of all of us,this was a perfect day for all of us.

"My dear boy are you coming home with us or you'll come home later."mom asked and I wanted to shut her mouth , she's giving Amber a reason not to believe me right now.

"Oh am gonna let you talk,if you excuse me,"Amber announced a avoiding my eyes,

"Amber-"I start but she interrupts me.

"Am fine, I'll be with the girls if you need me."she said going another direction, looking around our parents appeared to be having fun chatting with other parents,new friendship were made today and hopefully in the future too.

"Am sorry to bring this up,I thought you two were okay,I guess my big mouth should have just kept quiet." Mom says and I shake my head.

"It's okay,you aren't to blame ,am the one who she should blame,"I say as dad pats me on my shoulder.

"If she's the one for you, you've got to prove it, don't run away ,did your mom ever tell you how I fought for her during the old good days and it was worth it my good boy."he cheers me and I smile towards him. Whoever saw our relationship a year before would be shocked now how we are even talking normal, i am happy that we are back on the right track.

"I will not let you down,and the Garcia's family,"I say and they laugh.

"That's my son,"dad says triumphantly  and mom pats me encouraging leaving me there. I approached Amber again and the girls all gave excuses and left.

"Amber you do know in one way or another I was supposed to go home for a period of time before I go to university,I thought you'd be happy for me  but it won't be long before I come back to you," I tell her but she looks at me blankly before responding.

"You are gonna leave me like Henry did and I'll be back to the unbearable Amber no one like and wants to communicate with,right." She says and I blink at her, I know she'll feel bad if I leave but what about my feelings.

"What do you mean, I would never leave you,in fact am the one who reached out to you,but you run away many times,but what about you have you ever tried giving our relationship a try,do you love me or are you just using me to fill the gap you are missing,"I said pouring out all the anger that had built side of me and Amber just gasped In disbelief or she was just caught in her act I don't know.

"Am not using you and am trying my best to be a better person in this relationship."she responds and I look around me the place is almost empty thank goodness our families don't get to hear this argument.

"Really then prove it,say you love me ,"I cried out and Amber just looked at me speechless and caught in between her world it looked as if she wanted to say something but she couldn't. Jeez is it really hard to say those three words," fine then I guess I won't get to keep my promise then,"I murmured lowly and was pretty sure Amber didn't here me at all." See you around then,"I continued walking to Jack's car and we got out of there as soon as I entered his car.
