Chapter 14

To my surprise it's my sister right there standing at my doorstep.

Faith: "Natalie!?"

Natalie: "You don't seem happy to seem, I did try calling or texting you saying I was coming…but you umm just ignored me." She chuckles awkwardly.

Faith: "It's not a good time right now okay, tell mom I'm not coming home." I shut the door only for her to block it with her foot.

Natalie: "Mira yo no vine para eso…Mom doesn't know I'm here." 

I sigh, letting go of the door.

Faith: "Why are you here then? I thought I made it clear to you." 

All the calls I ignored & there she stood right in front of me, my little sister.

Natalie: "It's been 2 years since we talked or at least I tried…I miss my sister, what happened it wasn't your…" I stopped her.

Faith: "I am not going through that shit again!!! No if that's why you came over you can leave…I…I know a nearby hotel for you to stay."

Natalie: "Really you're going to kick out your sister we've known each for 19 years."

She is family but I had my reasons why I've distanced myself from them. Natalie can be annoying at times but I know she means well.

Faith: "You can stay but you follow my rules, my roof my rules understood?"

Natalie: "Yes Ma'am, sheesh when did you get so bossy."

Faith: "That's life…I'm going to sleep."

Faith's apartment📍

It's been 2 days & 12 more left to go. Can't lie I was slightly scared how my sister would react. It's all good in a way she didn't kick me out & she's working as a waitress not sure how that pays but she manages.

Natalie's thoughts: "Bruh!!! I'm in Los Angeles California, we should've made up & her showing me the dam city!!"

It's been 2 days & I'm stuck inside my sister's apartment. She really let herself down, not like it's bad just makes me wonder whatever happened.

As I'm thinking to myself messing around looking around her apartment, I get a knock at her door. Me being the person u am doesn't check & just opens the door.

Courtney: "Hey I didn't…you're not Faith?"

Natalie's thoughts: "I know her from somewhere, think!!!"

Courtney: "I know for a fact that I don't have the wrong apartment."

That's when it hit me that we both went to the same middle school together.

Natalie: "Mmm come on…I know you from somewhere, did we go to the same middle school together!?"

Courtney is confused but goes along with it.

Courtney: "Remind me who you are…I'm just here to see Faith."

Natalie: "Ya she's my sister, here look." I look through my phone with an old picture of us.

Courtney: "Hey that's me right there what the hell!? Nat!?"

She finally figures who I am, which lights a bulb in my head. We can catch up & I can leave this place. Finally I can actually enjoy my vacation.

Natalie: "Yess, sorry I don't remember your name." I chuckle nervously.

Courtney: "It's Courtney, I can't believe it's been so long Nat…how long has it been?"
