I'm not jealous, I'm territorial. Jealous is when you want something that is not yours. Territorial is protecting what is already yours.

Chapter thirteen: Territorial b*tch

Two weeks. That's how long Rashi and Yashraj have been dating.

And Mahaya didn't like it one bit.

And she couldn't even ask Yashraj to stop because hanging out with Arjun was the deal breaker.

She'd be a hypocrite if she did.

But how could she not?

She was disliking her by the minute!

And it has been two weeks.

Do the Math people.

"Here's your coffee." Bhavna smiled and Mahaya smiled in return.

Bhavna's eyes widened in surprise.

Mahaya ignored it and opened her email.

She was receiving one from the government today. The people who were going to interview her needed her bio-data.

Mahaya clicked open the mail and began to read it.

She saved the contact number in her phone.

Then she stepped out of her office. She wanted to know if Rashi had received the email too. The other two guys selected were not in Mumbai.

She knocked on the door twice then entered.

She stepped in to see Rashi and Yashraj standing too close, like they were about to do something.

Or already did it.

Mahaya's subconscious mind, the one which was a lawyer, always imagined the worst scenario.

"Mahaya." Rashi said, pushing Yashraj away.

Mahaya frowned.

Public display of affection never bothered Mahaya much but somehow this seemed like a crime to her.

She repulsed her more than Rashi earlier did.

She hurriedly left the office and entered her own, dosing down coffee in gulps.

Bhavna, like a good assistant, refilled her cup.

"Thanks." Mahaya muttered, holding the ceramic cup betwixt her palms.

Bhavna then left the room, sensing her boss needed some time alone.

Mahaya took deep breaths and calmed herself down.

She just kept looking at the coffee cup.

She had possibly caught them together in the act.

But what was so wrong with it? They were a couple. That's what they were supposed to do.

Inside a office?

But was that actually her problem?

Mahaya was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't notice Rashi sitting in front of her.

"I'm sorry. I did knock but you didn't answer." She smiled nervously.

Mahaya shook her head.

"I mustn't have heard." She replied drinking her coffee.

"I just wanted to know if you're alright. I mean, you came and you left. I wanted to know if everything was fine."

You shouldn't have asked that.
