Heads up I'm changing the story  title here soon. What should it be? Try and decide at the end of the chapter, please! Also, I'm drawing a new cover. Also! Sorry If my rhyming is bad...

    Mitch

''Okay Jerome, have you found anything?'' I asked Jerome, and held out my torch in his direction. I had took the torch off the wall, and we were now exploring the room we woke up in. Now that I had my torch, I could see the room was actually blank and empty.
''You may wanna see this, Mitch.'' Jerome called me over, not taking his eyes off whatever he was looking at. As I walked closer, I could make out a single chest illuminated by our torches. ''Should we open it?'' I asked, cautious. The chest was in a corner, tucked away with stone bricks a block above it, so we could still open it.
''I guess.''  Jerome said simply, and I watched as he flipped back the lid, making a creaking noise. Inside were a book, six sets of iron armor, and matching iron swords. Six... one for each of us! ''How convenient.'' I murmured. ''What?'' Jerome asked. ''There's six. That means one for each of us!'' Jerome reached down and picked up the book. ''Don't forget this!'' He smiled. It glowed and shimmered in his hand.
''I wonder what it says... Maybe it's like the one in the throne room?'' I pondered. Jerome opened the book. ''It says...
If you have a bacca as your friend
he'll try to stay with you until the end.
This castle has twists and turns,
and to be running free is what he yearns.
Be careful what you wish for
and only then will you find an open door. ''

''What do you think it means?'' I looked to Jerome. He was holding his head, like it hurt. Suddenly he dropped the book, and dropped to his knees, clutching his bacca hat, as though it would stop the headache. ''Jerome...? You okay...?'' I asked, suddenly scared. He groaned, and fell to the floor. He has a bacca hat... could the riddle be about him? Stop it, Mitch! Your friend's in pain! I picked up the book and flipped through it, desperate for answers. Finally I stopped on a page with writing.

Some problems can seem to            disappear.
Just like some people.
Be careful what you hear,
Or you may seem feeble
against the people you care for.

What does that mean!? I thought angrily. That's not helping. But suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, I felt like I just took a huge blow to the head. I put my head in my hands, like I could make it go away. If it could go away... I didn't finish the thought as the world faded to black...

I woke up on the floor, and it felt as though that headache had gone away for good. And then I remembered...
''Jerome?!'' I exclaimed. ''Yea?'' He replied sleepily from somewhere under me.  '' Oh, uh,'' I said standing up. ''That's my foot!'' He yelled, loud enough for everyone in the castle to probably hear. ''Sorry!''
I looked around the room. It was completely dark, the torches had gone out on the floor. I couldn't see my own hands in front of my face, let alone anything else. ''Where are you?'' Jerome asked. ''In the dark somewhere.'' I told him. ''Descriptive.'' ''Well, how do we get out of here?'' I shrugged, then remembered that it was dark and he couldn't see me. ''I dunno...'' I stopped to think.  Then I stuck out both my arms, feeling around the room, until I felt something hard and damp. The wall is here, so if I could just feel along it, I felt along the wall, and shuffled my feet so I didn't trip over anything. Then I can find the entrance! I thought as I countinued my little shuffle.  Finally my hands touched open air. ''Jerome! I found it!'' I called.  ''Where?'' ''Just follow my voice!''

''Okay.'' The next thing I know, I felt a hand in my face. ''That's my face!'' I yelled, just as loud as Jerome had. ''That's my ear!'' He exclaimed. I chuckled. He's so cute... Wait, what? I can't think like this! ''Okay Jerome, I'm walking down the hallway.'' I told him. ''Okay Mitch.'' My footsteps echoed off the hallway, and I heard his too, which was reasuring. I knew there was a turn up ahead. But I knew we'd be okay.

Finally we emerged from the dim torch-lit hallway, into the throne room. ''Were still alive! Yay!'' Jerome cheered. We were surprised to see Preston and Rob already there. ''Hey guys! We found away out!'' Preston called. ''Thank Notch!'' I sighed, approaching the two. They were holding hands. ''Where's Vikk and Lachlan?'' Jerome asked, sounding a little concerned. ''They could be back at any moment.'' Rob reassured us. ''What did you find?'' Preston asked.

I was surprised we were getting along so well. I mean, it's like we were friends before. But all I really remember is my life a few days before this. Now that I think about it, I remember stuff about me. I remember playing  'Hunger Games', and these yellow blocks that gave you something either useful of kills you, hanging out in a gaint clubhouse filled with toys...

''..Mitch...? You there?'' Preston waved a hand in front of my face. "Oh, sorry... I just... spaced off." I told them. "Oh hey! Vikk! Lachlan!" Jerome exclaimed, waving at them. "Hey guys! Did you find a way out?'' Vikk asked, hopeful as he made his way over to us, beside Lachlan.
I nodded. "Yea boy!"

"Great! Let's get moving! I really want to get out of here!'' Rob said.

·¤·¤·¤· Fifteen minutes of walking later
(I kept track!)

I saw a faint, white light at the end of the tunnel, and it seemed to get colder by the second. "Were almost there!" Vikk reasured us. "Yay! Freedom!" Jerome exclaimed. As we got closer to the exit, I could make out a small door, big enough for us to fit in there one at a time. Suddenly Lachlan sprinted forward without warning, knocking Vikk down. He ran so fast that I didn't think it was possible. ''Woah. Lachlan!?'' Preston called. ''Yeah?" Lachlan yelled from the other end of the hallway. "That's not natural.''

''I'm not natural!''

''Let's just get out of here.'' I said.
