As the midwife was cleaning up the newborn baby, she asked, “Would you like to cut the cord, Mr Henderson?” Logan cut the cord then wrapped his newborn son up in a little blanket. He took a look at him and realised how much he loved his baby. He then brought the baby closer to Melody and smiled, “Would you like to meet your mommy?,” then handed the baby over to Melody
Melody looked at the little baby in her arms. She could not believe that was the baby that grew inside her. She was awed over the fact that her and Logan created someone so perfect. The nurse saw that Logan was about to take a picture of Melody and the baby so she asked if she could get a picture of him and Melody with the baby. Logan responded, “Why not?” When the nurse saw the picture she had taken, she smiled, “You make a great couple”
Melody responded, “Oh no, we’re not together.” The nurse responded, “I’m sorry. I thought you were.” Melody immediately realised what she had said. She was so used to telling people she was not together with her baby’s dad and she had forgotten about how Logan had told her how he felt
“So I take it that’s your answer. In that case so, I’ll never bring up that subject again. The only time I’ll talk to you is when it’s to do with our baby. Other than that, I don’t want to hear what you have to say.” Melody cried, “Logan, wait! Please listen to me!” Logan answered, “No, Melody. I don’t want to discuss this anymore,” then walked away from the hospital
