You glanced up from your game of Candy Crush to see your mother.

"Listen when I speak to you." She snapped.

"What do you want?"

Your mother scoffed. "If you'd been listening, you would know that I'm leaving to go somewhere important."

You nodded for her to continue.

"I need you to watch Tessa until I'm back, which will be around eleven at night." Your mother looked you up and down. "No going out to parties, or whatever it is a girl your age does for fun."

It wasn't like you intended to go anywhere in the first place.

"Okay."

After your mother left, you went to your room.

Your phone dinged, and you froze.
