Final mission part 3

Start from the beginning

"No."

"See this is why I had those women at your old headquarters cleansed, you need to leave what you know behind to be reborn. I'm just trying to help you, Jules." She squeezes her eyes shut barely able to process the information she's hearing. She starts shaking, the sobs pouring out of her. Jameson does not react. He calmy leans forward and whispers in her ear. "And don't think I haven't noticed your attraction to that vigilante scum, he is next to be cleansed."

MATT

"Fisk." Matt still feels weak after being drugged by Jameson. Wilson Fisk towers above Mathew. He's dressed in his signature tailored white suit. Matt wishes he could tear his restraints away and tackle Fisk to the ground. The man responsible for the pain and agony of so many innocent people. The rapid growing cancer infesting New York city. "The man in the mask, we finally meet."  Says Fisk.

"It's not like I've been avoiding it. You just like to hide away." Fisk gets a chair and sits infront of Matt. "Well, it doesn't look like I'm hiding." Fisk readjust his sleeves. "You talk about hiding when you wear a mask, let's see who you really are."  He rips the mask of Matt's head and drops it to the floor. Matt feels his heart jumping about in his chest. Fisk laughs. "I know you. The lawyer. You work with Franklin Nelson and Karen Page."

"Don't you dare speak their names!" Matt spits. Fisk leans back in his chair. "I have to say, it is impressive, the work you and your little firm are doing to try and take me down." Matt stays silent, not giving him the satisfaction of a response. Fisk smiles. "You really thought that you could tear my legacy apart?"

"Well, someone has to try, you're not above the law." He laughs openly. "You're funny Matthew Murdock."

"Why Banks? He navigates in a completely different way to you." Fisk pulls a cigar from his pocket and lights it, pressing it against his lips, blowing out a stream of grey smoke. "Jameson is just a means to an end, when I'm done with him, I'll make him disappear. Not like you'll be able to warn him, you will be long gone before then."

"WATER BLOCK SYSTEM FAILING. WATER BLOCK SYSTEM FAILING." An automated voice rings out around them. Fisk frowns and looks up momentarily, quickly returning his attention back to Matt. "That amateur stunt you and your girlfriend pulled was clever, but my people are going to do everything they can to keep this facility afloat." Matt bites down on his lip. Fisk smiles cynically, standing up slowly. "Enjoy the time you have left Matthew." He pauses, handle on the door. "I always win." Then he leaves.

A firm fist grips Matt's air passage. He feels dizzy, like he's spinning. Panic. Panic. Panic. Come on Matthew think. This can't be it. You can't give up. Not yet. Not now. He feels so close to breaking. So close to failure. He can't even – "Matty." Jules voice. Soft. Pleading. Quiet but there. There. Easy for Matt, with his superhuman senses to pick up. "I know you can hear me."

"Look I know this is all going to shit right now. But it's not all lost. See there's something I didn't tell you. I have a bomb. Its high-grade S.H.I.E.L.D equipment. I stole it from one of the boxes in the hideouts. I thought it may come in handy. It's small about the size of a thin usb. I stitched it into the lining of my shoe. I figured if this all went badly, we could at least blow this place to hell if we set it off in one of the vents." Matt cannot believe the words he's hearing right now. "I know a lot of the people here are gonna die if we do this. "She swallows. "That's why I'm going to do it, you don't need that on your conscience Matty, if you try to get in my way I swear to God, I'll hurt you." Matt sighs deeply and shakes his head muttering. "Jules, no, please no." She continues. "Everything comes with a price. My name is already tarnished, I'm in this shit so deep Matty. But you still have Matt Murdock. There's so much good you can still do. New York needs you."
