Chpater 18: Bento Boxes?

Start from the beginning

She said with a slight tilt of her head; I went to counter before growing silent and looked towards the kitchen. The space was also converted for the competition, which meant one thing.

F/N: ...What am I supposed to eat for breakfast?

I asked before looking at Kanna as she pulled a Mcdonnolds bag with an orange juice onto the table, a fold-out chair sitting next to hers.

Kanna: Ms. Luca got you this before she came.

F/N: Oh, well, thank you.

Luca nodded once again as I made my way over and sat down, fishing the breakfast sandwich from the bag and started to chow down while our two 'contestants' walked out of their rooms ready to go, leaving me the only person left in their sleeping attire when they took their positions.

Kobayashi: Well, what are we waiting for?

She asked as Fafnir leaned forward on his hands. Like always, a dark aura started to swirl around him.

Fafnir: You will make three dishes, a salad, a dessert, and the main course. Use all of your skills, and entertain me.

Luca: Oh, and Ingredients are up to you from this world, but make sure you stay within the budget. We don't want you two going bankrupt, do we?

She said with a slight giggle as my sister gave the ex-goddess a side glare while I simply finished my meal and sat back.

F/N: It's bento boxes; what do you expect them to buy?

Luca: Honey, this is mainly for Tohru.

F/N: Fair point.

I said with a small smile when the dragon in question whined a little as she looked between us.

Tohru: I promise to be good; now, can we go?

She asked, bouncing on her toes as she quickly grabbed a shopping bag. My sister followed suit as she nabbed her's, determination now stricken across both their brows. With her same smile, Luca released the hounds as both women rushed out the door, a loud bang sounding off as the door slammed shut behind them.

Kanna: I never thought Kobayashi cared so much?

F/N: Yeah, she usually isn't this competitive, even with me. Though, with Tohru out of the house, can I ask you all something?

I incurred the three dragons looking over at me as I got up and threw away my trash. Turning to face them, I jumped back when Luca's gaze met mine with her fully opened eyes.

Luca: You want to ask her out, don't you? Something much have happened; a month ago, you were mentally knotted on if or if not?

F/N: I-I, yeah. Honesty, I need to stop being surprised by you knowing all this. Since I grew up here and, well, you know I'm a half-dragon, is there a courting ritual or something I have to do?

Standing there a little awkwardly, I watched as Fafnir stood up fully and, with his crimson eyes, looked down upon me with a sense of elderly advice, with his usual tone of superiority.

Fafnir: It is a ritual of dominance, a duel for control. You must prove yourself worthy of being her mate through combat and a show of strength. This is your only way to-

Kanna: Ms. Tohru likes being outside. Maybe a picnic would work?

She said, cutting off her elder with her simplicity, the old man glaring at her for a moment as Luca placed a hand on his shoulder.

Luca: That could work, but then again, we won't be much help, I'm afraid. Tohru is a very free soul, she hasn't conformed to many customs, so it's unlikely anything forms our world should matter. What do humans normally do?
