I will watch for his coming like the evening sky,
Clouds rolling thunder across that magnificence
That I've come to know in the descent of the Sun,
Adorning myself with a Crown of Stars as they
Rain down from the Kingdom beyond this world.
Oh!--How I've been steadfast in my devotion,
Cradling the beauty of his tender glory in weary
And weathered palms befitting of his respite,
Singing hallelujah on the soft of his lips and
Caressing the peach of his face with mine likewise.
To walk with him is to know the soothing cool
Of the rain blessing parched earth, his love
Calling forth the deep thrumming of life that is
The reason why I breathe in the air on a quiet day.
Our voices will melt into our own choir and
Reach a throng that will echo from the ivory halls
Of Heaven to the deepest dwellings of the Earth,
Every grain of sand and drop of water and
Ray of sunshine and rush of wind and green,
Green towering tree and mewling of a lamb and
Flap of a bird's wings and swell of the azure ocean
At the unabashed whim of the celestial bodies and
Sweet laughter carried on the boughs of joy wrapped
In wholehearted carelessness and Satiety's comfort and
The utter weightlessness of those beloveds who life
One to their highest, inches away from touching the light
And this...this will be the evidence of my love.
