For the first time in your friendship, you couldn't confidently say yes. This was an insane scenario during an even more insane day. "I-...."
"[Y/N]?" His voice ached with clear hurt.
You gulp back every rational thought you have, which to be fair isn't many. "I trust you."
He takes a sigh of relief. "Oh- uh... Alright. I gotta go-"
"Wh-? What? I thought we had to talk?"
"We do- and we will. Just sit tight, ok?"
"Ok?" You answer, positively dumbfounded at whatever the hell is going on.
"Ok," He takes a breath. "I'll see you in a bit." He disconnects before you have a chance to respond. You don't really process what says. You stare at the steaks of blood your bleeding thumb had left on your phones screen. You wipe it against your shirt, only smearing the blood across the screen.
You grimace. Your eyes glance around your room, spotting a glass of water on your nightstand. How old is it? Too old. You grab it, dipping a bit of you shirt into it to try and clean off your phone. It works- kinda. With a sigh, you place your phone back onto your nightstand.
A soft flicker grabs your attention. It was just a flash, a slight whip of light. It was so swift, you were sure your eyes were tricking you. Wouldn't exactly be very surprising at this point, but then it happened again. This time, you were positive.
You sit there on your dirty floor, staring at the light on your ceiling with eyes as larg as the bulb itself. You wait for it to finally brun out with a closing zap, but it just kept flashing. At first it was every few seconds, no real pattern, but then it began to almost rampage. The strobe hurt your eyes, especially with the swiftly setting sun making everything that much darker.
You shield your eyes from the light with your forearm, turning away to spare your sight. You hear the recognizeable chime of your computer booting up, then shutting down, then booting up again. Your mind screamed at your body to run, but your body remained still in fear. When your TV tuned into a channel of pure static and white noise, your room had already descended into a flurry of chaos.
The static buzzes violently, almost ear bleeding. Through your shielding, you can barely make out something of a silloute against the piercing light of the tv. As the silloutet grows larger, you're able to rationalize thats it's... getting closer?
A stench of mildew creeped into your room as you realized something. A hand had shot out of your TV. The other joined it, stabilizing the rest of the body as this entity -- who watches too many movies-- emerged.
You mumble confused curses under your breath, unable to conduct any form of an actual, cognitive thought. As the being approaches, you don't take your eyes off of it, patting around you as to look for any means to defend yourself. Your elbow hits your nightstand. As your attention momentarily shifts to your arm, you recall the glass of water.
Better than nothing, you suppose.
Before what ever the hell has invaded your room takes a step closer, you splash it down with water, swiftly following it with a glass cup to the head.
The cup shatters on the ground, and you hear the thing start to curse. It's form seems to be rapidly shifting in its place, glitching, like how a buggy game would. "What the fuck!?" He starts, backing away from you. "Oh my fuck, chill out!?"
"....Ben!?" With the buzzing of the light winding down, and your eyes adjusting to the dimmer room, you can roughly make out light hair, maybe blond, but not much else. "Oh my god. Oh my god oh my god oh my god. I'm going batshit."
