"Ximena, I'm leaving. Make sure to lock the door when you leave for school." My mom told.
"Okay." I mumbled as I went through my dresser, trying to find something to wear for my first day.
Deciding I should just keep it simple, I settled on some jeans and a tank top. "I guess this will work. I mean it is kinda hot outside."

"Okay, I'm finally ready." I sighed as I ran my fingers through my hair a couple of times.
I grabbed my book bag and made my way out of my room. I turned off all the lights in the house before leaving and locking the door behind me.
"Aye, Ximena!" I heard making me turn around. I saw Carlos standing on the steps of his porch.
I looked him up and down because he was looking extra fine today. He had on some khaki cargo pants with a black polo zip up hoodie and some Jordan 1s. He also had a black fitted cap on.
