Chapter 10: Fight Club: Part 3

Start from the beginning

Croc: Much better...

[The two then approach each other with their fists up and continue to fight like they did before. Asher, who's still watching the fight from above with interest, takes another puff of his cigarette and blows the smoke out. He stands there motionless, lost in his own thoughts. He studies Jerry and the way he's fighting closely.]

Asher: (In Head) His arm must be killing him right now... Can't imagine the pain he's feeling at the moment. Oh, wait, no. Yes, I can! *Chuckles*

[He smiles and silently laughs to himself. He takes his cigarette out of his mouth and continues to think to himself.]

Asher: (In Head) Hell is not what you would expect it to be, heh-heh. Never thought I'd see the only person I consider a friend down here fight a seven-and-a-half-foot-tall crocodile demon. *Chuckles*

[Asher places his cigarette back into his mouth and continues smoking it. He looks above the ring a tiny bit.]

Asher: (In Head) My life has changed a lot ever since I got down here, never would have expected any of this...

[Asher crosses his arms and closes his eyes.]

Asher: (In Head) It's weird... It's hell, you'd expect people to be getting toured by the devil himself or something. But no, that's not it at all... It's like a second life down here...

[Asher opens his eyes and looks around the room. He scans all the demons cheering and watching the fight.]

Asher: (In Head) Most of these demons are probably sinners who are just continuing their lives as if they never died!

[Asher blows some smoke out of his mouth. He looks up towards the ceiling.]

Asher: (In Head) Hmm... Now that I think of it, if Hell exists... Then so does Heaven. I wonder what it's like up there as opposed to down here? Probably better than this... Highly doubt I'll get a chance to see it with my own eyes, since I'm stuck down here and all... I missed my chance at a better afterlife when I was alive, now I'm paying for it! *Chuckles* Heh-heh...

[Asher chuckles to himself and shakes his head.]

Asher: (In Head) Might as well try to enjoy my second life down here since it doesn't look like there's any way to get a second chance, and I haven't seen any place that's offering redemption, so I guess it's not readily available. Or available at all! *Chuckles* So I guess I can see why everyone down here acts like nothing changed when they died. Frankly, I don't blame them! I mean, why stop doing what ya love when there is no chance in hell you're getting a better life!

[Asher looks towards the ground and closes his eyes.]

Asher: (In Head) As for me... Well... I'm not really doing what I did when I was alive, but work is work I guess. Honestly, I'm just looking for something that will both keep me entertained and not get me killed. Mmm... But even with something to do down here I still feel off... Like something is missing... But what is it?

[He scratches his chin and stands there silently. He doesn't even think about anything. He just stands there with a blank mind. He stops scratching his chin and opens his eyes. However, he still seems to be lost in his thoughts.]

Asher: (In Head) Eh. I'll worry about it another time. For now, I should focus on the-

Bradley: (Through Speakers) AND THIS LOOKS LIKE IT, FOLKS!!!

[Bradley yells into his microphone causing Asher to come out of his trance. He shakes his head a bit and snaps out of his trance.]

Asher: (In Head) Jesus Christ he's loud. Wait, what's he talking abo- Oh shit Jerry.
